²⁰以斯帖依照末底改的吩咐，没有向人透露自己的身世和籍贯，因为她像幼年时一样听从末底改的话。

²¹一天，末底改正在宫门供职，两个守门的太监辟探和提列恼恨亚哈随鲁王，想要下手害他。 ²²末底改知道后，便通知以斯帖王后，以斯帖就以末底改的名义禀告王。

Esther 2:20-22

New International Version

²⁰But Esther had kept secret her family background and nationality just as Mordecai had told her to do, for she continued to follow Mordecai’s instructions as she had done when he was bringing her up.^(A)

²¹During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana^[a] and Teresh, two of the king’s officers^(B) who guarded the doorway, became angry^(C) and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes. ²²But Mordecai found out about the plot and told Queen Esther, who in turn reported it to the king, giving credit to Mordecai.

²⁰^(A)Now Esther had not revealed her family and her people, just as Mordecai had charged her, for Esther obeyed the command of Mordecai as when she was brought up by him.

²¹In those days, while Mordecai sat within the king’s gate, two of the king’s eunuchs, ^[a]Bigthan and Teresh, doorkeepers, became furious and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. ²²So the matter became known to Mordecai, ^(B)who told Queen Esther, and Esther informed the king in Mordecai’s name.
