6 クリスチャン同士の争いが生じた時、どちらが正しいかを、他のクリスチャンに判断してもらうのではなく、異教徒の法廷に訴え出るとはいったいどういうつもりですか。 2 いつか、私たちクリスチャンがこの世をさばき、支配する日が来ることを知らないのですか。この世こそあなたがたにさばかれる運命にあるのに、どうしてあなたがたは、内輪のそんなささいな事件さえ解決できないのですか。 3 クリスチャンは、天使さえもさばくようになることを知らないのですか。この地上での自分たちの問題をさばくくらい、容易にできるはずです。 4 それなのになぜ、教会外の、クリスチャンでもない裁判官のもとへ出向くのですか。 5 あえてあなたがたに恥をかかせようと、私はこう言うのです。いったい教会には、こうした争いを解決できる賢明な人が一人もいないのですか。 6 だから、クリスチャンがクリスチャンを訴え、しかも、それを不信者の前に持ち出すようなまねをするのですか。 7 そもそも、訴え合うこと自体がクリスチャンにとって、すでに敗北です。なぜ、不正な仕打ちに甘んじようとしないのですか。だますよりはだまされるほうが、もっと主に喜ばれるでしょう。 8 ところが、あなたがたは不正を行い、だまし取り、しかも兄弟(信仰を同じくする者)に対して、そのようなことをしているのです。
神の国を相続できない者
9-10 こんな者が神の国を相続できないのは、当然ではありませんか。思い違いをしてはいけません。不道徳な生活をしている者、偶像を拝む者、姦淫する者や同性愛にふける者は、神の国を相続できません。どろぼう、貪欲な者、酒に酔う者、人をけなす者、強盗も同様です。 11 あなたがたの中にも、そんな過去を持つ人がいます。しかし、主イエス・キリストと神の聖霊のおかげで、今はもう罪を洗い流され、あなたがたは神のために聖なる者とされ、神に受け入れられているのです。
12 キリストが禁じておられること以外、私には、何でもする自由があります。しかしその中には、自分のためにならないこともあります。たとえ、してよいことであっても、それに捕らえられたら最後、やめようとしても簡単にやめられないことには手を出しません。
13 食べることについて考えてみましょう。神様は、物を食べるために食欲を与え、消化するために胃を備えてくださいました。だからといって、必要以上に食べてよいということにはなりません。食べることが第一だなどと考えてはいけません。なぜなら、いつの日か神様は、胃も食べ物も取り上げられるからです。
また、性的な罪は絶対にいけません。私たちの体は、そんなことのためにではなく、主のために造られたのです。そして、主ご自身が、私たちの体に住もうと願っておられるのです。 14 神様は、主イエス・キリストを復活させたのと同じ力で、私たちの体をも、死人の中から復活させようとしておられます。 15 あなたがたの体は、キリストの体の一部であることがわからないのですか。キリストの体の一部と売春婦とを結びつけるようなことをしてよいでしょうか。とんでもないことです。 16 もし人が売春婦と結びつくなら、その人と彼女は一心同体になることがわからないのですか。というのは、聖書の中で言われるとおり、神の目に、二人の者は一人とみなされるからです。 17 しかし自分を主にささげるなら、その人とキリストは、一人の人として結び合わされるのです。 18 性的な罪とは無縁になりなさいと私が言うのは、そのためです。この罪を犯すことは、自分の体に対して罪を犯すのです。 19 体は、神様があなたがたに与えてくださった聖霊の家であって、聖霊がそこに住んでおられるのです。あなたがたの体は、自分のものではありません。 20 神様が多額の代価を払って、あなたがたを買い取ってくださったのです。ですから、あなたがたの体のどの部分も、神の栄光を現すために用いなさい。その所有者は神だからです。

6 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5 I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6 But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.
14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.
16 What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.
17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Do Not Sue the Brethren
6 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the (A)saints? 2 Do you not know that (B)the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? 3 Do you not know that we shall (C)judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life? 4 If then you have [a]judgments concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brethren? 6 But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!
7 Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. (D)Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated? 8 No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brethren! 9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. (E)Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [b]homosexuals, nor [c]sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were (F)some of you. (G)But you were washed, but you were [d]sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Glorify God in Body and Spirit
12 (H)All things are lawful for me, but all things are not [e]helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of [f]any. 13 (I)Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for (J)sexual immorality but (K)for the Lord, (L)and the Lord for the body. 14 And (M)God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up (N)by His power.
15 Do you not know that (O)your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For (P)“the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” 17 (Q)But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
18 (R)Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins (S)against his own body. 19 Or (T)do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, (U)and you are not your own? 20 For (V)you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body [g]and in your spirit, which are God’s.
