1 Вот слово Божье, которое пришло к Софонии во времена царствования в Иуде Иосии, сына Амона. Софония был сыном Куша, Куш был сыном Годолии, Годолия был сыном Амарии, а Амария был сыном царя Езекии.
День Господа для суда над людьми
2 Господь сказал:
«Я уничтожу всё на земле![a]
3 Я истреблю всех людей и животных,
а также птиц в воздухе и рыб в море.
Я истреблю нечестивых людей и соблазны,
заставляющие их грешить.
Я уничтожу всех людей на земле».
Так сказал Господь:
4 «Я накажу Иуду и всех жителей Иерусалима,
Я уничтожу всё, что может служить напоминанием
о поклонении Ваалу.
Я истреблю священников, служащих идолам,
5 и всех тех, кто поднимаются на крыши домов,
чтобы поклоняться звёздам[b].
Люди забудут об этих лжесвященниках!
Эти люди обещали служить и поклоняться Мне,
но сейчас они поклоняются лжебогу Милхому.
6 Те люди отвернулись от Господа и отступили от Него,
перестав просить Его о помощи».
7 Молчите перед Господом, моим Богом,
потому что День для суда Господнего над людьми
скоро наступит!
Господь приготовил Свою жертву,
и званые гости Его приготовились[c].
8 И сказал Господь:
«В День Господнего жертвоприношения
Я накажу царских сыновей и других предводителей.
Я накажу всех людей,
которые носят иноземные одежды.
9 В это время Я накажу всех людей,
прыгающих через порог[d].
Я накажу людей,
которые наполняют насилием и предательством
дом повелителя своего»[e].
10 Господь также сказал: «В тот день
люди будут взывать о помощи
у Рыбных ворот в Иерусалиме
и горестно рыдать в других частях города.
И услышат они громкий шум разрушений
на холмах вокруг города.
11 И вы, люди, живущие в нижней части Иерусалима,
станете рыдать, потому что истреблены будут
все торговцы и богатые купцы.
12 Я осмотрю Иерусалим со светильником
и найду всех тех, кто живут как им вздумается.
Они говорят:
„Господь ничего не делает: ни зла, ни добра!”
Я найду и накажу этих людей!»
13 Другие унесут их добро и разрушат их дома.
Те, кто строят дома, не будут в них жить,
а те, кто сажают виноградники,
не будут пить вино из этого винограда,
потому что другие люди завладеют всем этим.
14 Близок великий День Господнего суда,
стремительно приближение его!
Горек будет плач людей в этот день,
и зарыдают даже храбрые воины!
15 Бог покажет Свой гнев в это время,
в день страшных бедствий и разрушений.
Это будет день тьмы и мрака, день бури и мглы.
16 Он будет похож на военное время,
когда в укреплённых городах
и на сторожевых башнях
раздаются звуки горнов и труб.
17 Господь сказал:
«Я сделаю жизнь людей очень трудной,
они будут бродить как слепые,
потому что грешили против Господа.
Их кровь будет литься по земле,
а трупы будут валяться на земле словно навоз.
18 Не поможет им ни золото,
ни серебро в день гнева Господа!
Господь сокрушит всю землю
и полностью истребит всех людей,
живущих на земле!»[f]

1 The word of the Lord that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, during the reign of Josiah(A) son of Amon(B) king of Judah:
Judgment on the Whole Earth in the Day of the Lord
2 “I will sweep away everything
from the face of the earth,”(C)
declares the Lord.
3 “I will sweep away both man and beast;(D)
I will sweep away the birds in the sky(E)
and the fish in the sea—
and the idols that cause the wicked to stumble.”[a]
“When I destroy all mankind
on the face of the earth,”(F)
declares the Lord,(G)
4 “I will stretch out my hand(H) against Judah
and against all who live in Jerusalem.
I will destroy every remnant of Baal worship in this place,(I)
the very names of the idolatrous priests(J)—
5 those who bow down on the roofs
to worship the starry host,(K)
those who bow down and swear by the Lord
and who also swear by Molek,[b](L)
6 those who turn back from following(M) the Lord
and neither seek(N) the Lord nor inquire(O) of him.”
7 Be silent(P) before the Sovereign Lord,
for the day of the Lord(Q) is near.
The Lord has prepared a sacrifice;(R)
he has consecrated those he has invited.
8 “On the day of the Lord’s sacrifice
I will punish(S) the officials
and the king’s sons(T)
and all those clad
in foreign clothes.
9 On that day I will punish
all who avoid stepping on the threshold,[c](U)
who fill the temple of their gods
with violence and deceit.(V)
10 “On that day,(W)”
declares the Lord,
“a cry will go up from the Fish Gate,(X)
wailing(Y) from the New Quarter,
and a loud crash from the hills.
11 Wail,(Z) you who live in the market district[d];
all your merchants will be wiped out,
all who trade with[e] silver will be destroyed.(AA)
12 At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps
and punish those who are complacent,(AB)
who are like wine left on its dregs,(AC)
who think, ‘The Lord will do nothing,(AD)
either good or bad.’(AE)
13 Their wealth will be plundered,(AF)
their houses demolished.
Though they build houses,
they will not live in them;
though they plant vineyards,
they will not drink the wine.”(AG)
14 The great day of the Lord(AH) is near(AI)—
near and coming quickly.
The cry on the day of the Lord is bitter;
the Mighty Warrior shouts his battle cry.
15 That day will be a day of wrath—
a day of distress and anguish,
a day of trouble and ruin,
a day of darkness(AJ) and gloom,
a day of clouds and blackness(AK)—
16 a day of trumpet and battle cry(AL)
against the fortified cities
and against the corner towers.(AM)
17 “I will bring such distress(AN) on all people
that they will grope about like those who are blind,(AO)
because they have sinned against the Lord.
Their blood will be poured out(AP) like dust
and their entrails like dung.(AQ)
18 Neither their silver nor their gold
will be able to save them
on the day of the Lord’s wrath.”(AR)

1 The word of the Lord that came to Sophonias the son of Chusi, the son of Godolias, the son of Amarias, the son of Ezechias, in the days of Josias the son of Amon king of Juda.
2 Gathering, I will gather together all things from off the face of the land, saith the Lord:
3 I will gather man, and beast, I will gather the birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea: and the ungodly shall meet with ruin: and I will destroy men from off the face of the land, saith the Lord.
4 And I will stretch out my hand upon Juda, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem: and I will destroy out of this place the remnant of Baal, and the names of the wardens of the temples with the priests:
5 And them that worship the host of heaven upon the tops of houses, and them that adore, and swear by the Lord, and swear by Melchom.
6 And them that turn away from following after the Lord, and that have not sought the Lord, nor searched after him.
7 Be silent before the face of the Lord God: for the day of the Lord is near, for the Lord hath prepared a victim, he hath sanctified his guests.
8 And it shall come to pass in the day of the victim of the Lord, that I will visit upon the princes, and upon the king's sons, and upon all such as are clothed with strange apparel.
9 And I will visit in that day upon every one that entereth arrogantly over the threshold: them that fill the house of the Lord their God with iniquity and deceit.
10 And there shall be in that day, saith the Lord, the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a howling from the Second, and a great destruction from the hills.
11 Howl, ye inhabitants of the Morter. All the people of Chanaan is hush, all are cut off that were wrapped up in silver.
12 And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and will visit upon the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their hearts: The Lord will not do good, nor will he do evil.
13 And their strength shall become a booty, and their houses as a desert: and they shall build houses, and shall not dwell in them: and they shall plant vineyards, and shall not drink the wine of them.
14 The great day of the Lord is near, it is near and exceeding swift: the voice of the day of the Lord is bitter, the mighty man shall there meet with tribulation.
15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of tribulation and distress, a day of calamity and misery, a day of darkness and obscurity, a day of clouds and whirlwinds,
16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high bulwarks.
17 And I will distress men, and they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as earth, and their bodies as dung.
18 Neither shall their silver and their gold be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord: all the land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy, for he shall make even a speedy destruction of all them that dwell in the land.
