21 Дирижеру хора. На мотив «Лань на заре»[a]. Псалом Давида.
2 Боже мой, Боже мой, почему Ты меня оставил?
Почему остаешься вдали, когда взываю о помощи?
3 Бог мой, я взываю днем – Ты не внемлешь,
ночью – и нет мне успокоения.
4 Ты – Святой, восседающий
посреди хвалений Израиля.
5 На Тебя уповали наши отцы,
уповали, и Ты избавлял их.
6 Они взывали к Тебе и обретали спасение,
на Тебя уповали и не были разочарованы.
7 Я же червь, а не человек, в бесславии у людей,
в презрении у народа.
8 Все, кто видит меня, надо мной смеются,
оскорбляют меня, головой качают:
9 «Он полагался на Господа,
так пусть Он избавит его,
пусть спасет, раз он Ему угоден».
10 Но Ты вывел меня из утробы;
Ты вложил в меня упование
у груди материнской.
11 С рождения я на Тебя оставлен;
от чрева матери Ты – мой Бог.
12 Не будь от меня далек,
ведь скорбь близка,
а помощника нет.
13 Множество быков меня обступило,
крепкие быки Башана меня окружили[b].
14 Раскрыли пасть свою на меня,
как лев, что ревет, терзая добычу.
15 Пролился я, как вода;
все кости мои рассыпались.
Сердце мое превратилось в воск
и растопилось в груди.
16 Сила моя иссохла, как черепок,
и к небу прилип язык.
Ты положил меня в смертный прах.
17 Псы меня окружили,
сборище злых меня обступило,
пронзили мне руки и ноги[c].
18 Я все свои кости могу перечесть,
а они глядят и злорадствуют надо мной.
19 Они делят между собой мои одежды,
бросают жребий о моем одеянии.
20 Но Ты, Господь, не будь от меня далек;
сила моя, поспеши мне на помощь.
21 Душу мою от меча избавь,
защити мою жизнь[d] от псов.
22 Спаси меня от львиной пасти
и от рогов диких быков.
23 Я возвещу Твое имя братьям моим
и посреди собрания Тебя восхвалю.
24 Хвалите Господа, боящиеся Его!
Славьте Его, все потомки Иакова!
Чтите Его, все потомки Израиля!
25 Ведь Он не презрел и не пренебрег
скорбью страдальца.
Он не скрыл от него лица Своего,
но внял его крику о помощи.
26 Тебя хвалю я в большом собрании,
перед боящимися Тебя[e] я исполню свои обеты.
27 Бедняки будут есть и насытятся,
ищущие Господа восхвалят Его.
Да живут сердца ваши вовеки!
28 Все края земли вспомнят Господа и обратятся к Нему,
все племена склонятся перед Ним[f],
29 потому что царство принадлежит Господу,
Он правит народами.
30 Будут есть и склоняться перед Ним все гордецы земли.
Все, кто уйдет в прах, будут Ему поклоняться,
все, кто не властен удержать свою жизнь.
31 Потомки будут Ему служить,
и грядущим поколениям расскажут о Владыке.
32 Придут и возвестят о праведности Его
тем, кто родится позже,
расскажут о том, что Он сотворил.

Psalm 21[a]
For the director of music. A psalm of David.
2 You have granted him his heart’s desire(C)
and have not withheld the request of his lips.[b]
3 You came to greet him with rich blessings
and placed a crown of pure gold(D) on his head.(E)
4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
length of days, for ever and ever.(F)
5 Through the victories(G) you gave, his glory is great;
you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.(H)
6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings
and made him glad with the joy(I) of your presence.(J)
7 For the king trusts in the Lord;(K)
through the unfailing love(L) of the Most High(M)
he will not be shaken.(N)
8 Your hand will lay hold(O) on all your enemies;
your right hand will seize your foes.
9 When you appear for battle,
you will burn them up as in a blazing furnace.
The Lord will swallow them up in his wrath,
and his fire will consume them.(P)
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth,
their posterity from mankind.(Q)
11 Though they plot evil(R) against you
and devise wicked schemes,(S) they cannot succeed.
12 You will make them turn their backs(T)
when you aim at them with drawn bow.

21 The king shall joy in thy strength, O Lord; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
3 For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
4 He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
5 His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
6 For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
7 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
11 For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
12 Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
13 Be thou exalted, Lord, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.

21 The king shall have joy in Your strength, O Lord;
And in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 You have given him his heart’s desire,
And have not withheld the (A)request of his lips. Selah
3 For You meet him with the blessings of goodness;
You set a crown of pure gold upon his head.
4 (B)He asked life from You, and You gave it to him—
Length of days forever and ever.
5 His glory is great in Your salvation;
Honor and majesty You have placed upon him.
6 For You have made him most blessed forever;
(C)You have made him [a]exceedingly glad with Your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the Lord,
And through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be [b]moved.
8 Your hand will find all Your enemies;
Your right hand will find those who hate You.
9 You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger;
The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath,
And the fire shall devour them.
10 Their offspring You shall destroy from the earth,
And their [c]descendants from among the sons of men.
11 For they intended evil against You;
They devised a plot which they are not able to (D)perform.
12 Therefore You will make them turn their back;
You will make ready Your arrows on Your string toward their faces.
13 Be exalted, O Lord, in Your own strength!
We will sing and praise Your power.
