Proverbs 3:12

¹²because the Lord disciplines those he loves,^(A)

Just ^(B)as a father disciplines the son in whom he delights.

⁵And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says,

“My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and do not lose heart^(A) when he rebukes you,

⁵and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons,

“^(A)My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
Nor ^(B)faint when you are punished by Him;
