Седамдесет година изгнанства
25 Реч која је дошла Јеремији за сав народ Јуде, четврте године Јоакима, сина Јудиног цара Јосије, што је била прва година Навуходоносора, цара Вавилона; 2 реч коју је пророк Јеремија објавио свем народу Јуде и свим становницима Јерусалима. Довешћу их на ову земљу, на њене становнике и на све ове околне народе. Изручићу их клетом уништењу, претворићу их у пустош, у ругло и рушевине вечне. 10 Угушићу међу њима звук весеља, цику радовања, повик младожење и невесте, клопарање жрвњева и светлост светиљке. 11 Земљу ћу ову претворити у пустош, у рушевину, а ови ће народи служити седамдесет година цару Вавилона.
12 И када се наврши седамдесет година, казнићу цара Вавилона и онај народ – говори Господ – за њихове кривице. А земљу ћу халдејску да претворим у рушевину вечну. 13 Пустићу на ту земљу све моје речи које сам против ње објавио и све што је записано у овој књизи, што је Јеремија пророковао свим овим народима. 14 Јер ће и њима наметнути радове многи народи и велики цареви. Узвратићу им по њиховим поступцима и према делу њихових руку.“
Чаша Божијег гнева
15 Јер овако ми је казао Господ, Бог Израиља: „Узми ову чашу вина јарости из моје руке и напој њоме све народе којима те шаљем. 16 И пиће и затетураће се, као да нису при чистој памети због мача који ћу међу њих да пошаљем.“
17 Тако сам узео чашу из Господњих руку и напојио све народе којима ме је Господ послао: 18 Јерусалим, све градове Јуде и његове цареве, његове главаре, да постану пустош, рушевина, ругло и проклетство, што данас и јесу; 19 и фараона, цара Египта, његове слуге, његове главаре и сав његов народ; 20 и све који су мешаног порекла, све цареве земље Уз, све цареве филистејске земље, Аскалон, Газу, Акарон и остатак Азота; 21 и Едом, Моав и народ Амона; 22 и све цареве Тира, све цареве Сидона и све цареве острва са друге стране мора; 23 и Дедан, Тему, Вуз и све са крајева земље; 24 и све арапске цареве, све цареве оних у пустињи који су мешаног порекла; 25 и све зимријске цареве, све еламске цареве, све мидијске цареве; 26 и све цареве севера, и оне који су близу и оне који су далеко, и једне и друге, сва царства света која су на лицу земље. Избљујте се па падните да не устанете, јер ја шаљем мач међу вас.’ 28 Ако ли одбију да из твоје руке узму чашу да би пили, ти им реци: ’Овако каже Господ над војскама: пићете! Зацело ћете пити! 29 Јер, ево почињем да пуштам зло на град који је по мени назван, а ви да останете некажњени? Нећете остати некажњени! Призвао сам мач на све становнике земље – говори Господ над војскама.’
30 Ти им пророкуј све ове речи и реци им:
’Господ ће са висина као лавић рикнути,
из свог светог места ће моћно завикати.
Заориће на своје Пребивалиште клицањем
против свих становника земље, као онај који муља грожђе.
31 Та вика стиже до крајева земље,
јер се Господ спори с народима.
За суд се он спрема с целим човечанством,
а зликовце је мачу препустио – говори Господ.’“
32 Овако каже Господ над војскама:
„Ево зла што надире
од народа до народа!
Пролама се велика олуја
из најдаљих земљиних крајева.
33 Покланих ће тога дана од Господа бити с краја на крај земље. Неожаљени, несакупљени и несахрањени – такви ће постати – ђубриво поврх земље.
34 Кукајте, пастири!
Завапите, у прашини се ваљајте, ви владари стада!
Сазрело је време и за ваше клање и за ваше расејање,
јер ћете прснути ко посуда драга.
35 За пастире нема уточишта,
нема спаса за владаре стада!
36 Слушај вапај пастира
и нарицање владара стада
јер Господ хара њихов пашњак.
37 И биће опустошени мирни пашњаци
због Господњег разјареног гнева.
38 Као лавић он напушта станиште своје
јер је опустошена њихова земља
од јарости тлачитеља,
од његовог гнева успламтелог.“

2 Пророк Јеремија рече свем народу Јуде и свим житељима Јерусалима: 3 Двадесет три године – од тринаесте године владавине Јосије сина Амоновог, цара Јуде, до дана данашњег – долазила ми је реч ГОСПОДЊА и ја сам вам је стално говорио, али ви нисте слушали. 4 Иако је ГОСПОД стално слао своје слуге пророке, нисте слушали ни обраћали пажњу. 5 Говорили су: »Окрените се, сваки од вас, од свог злог начина живота и својих злих дела, и остаћете у земљи коју је ГОСПОД дао вама и вашим праоцима довека. 6 Не идите за другим боговима, да им служите и клањате им се, не изазивајте ме на гнев својим делима, и ја вам нећу учинити ништа нажао.«
7 »Али ви ме нисте слушали«, говори ГОСПОД, »и разгневили сте ме својим делима, и сами себи наудили.«
8 Стога ГОСПОД над војскама каже овако: »Зато што нисте слушали моје речи, 9 позваћу све народе севера и свог слугу Навуходоносора, цара Вавилона«, говори ГОСПОД, »и довести их на ову земљу и њене становнике и на све околне народе. Докраја ћу их затрти и учинити их предметом згражавања и презира и вечном рушевином. 10 Затрћу међу њима звуке весеља и радости, гласове младе и младожење, клопарање млинских каменова и светлост светиљке. 11 Сва ова земља постаће гола пустош, а ови народи ће седамдесет година служити цару Вавилона. 12 Али, када се наврши ових седамдесет година, казнићу цара Вавилона и његов народ, земљу Халдејаца, због њихове кривице«, говори ГОСПОД, »и учинити је пустом довека. 13 Довешћу на ту земљу све што сам рекао против ње, све што је записано у овој књизи и што је Јеремија пророковао против свих народа. 14 И они ће служити многим народима и великим царевима. Чаша Божије срџбе
15 Овако ми рече ГОСПОД, Бог Израелов: »Узми из моје руке ову чашу с вином моје срџбе, па нека сви народи којима те пошаљем пију из ње. 16 Када буду пили из ње, затетураће се и полудети због мача који ћу послати међу њих.«
17 И ја узех чашу из руке ГОСПОДЊЕ, па учиних да из ње пију сви народи којима ме је послао:
18 Јерусалим и градови Јуде, његови цареви и службеници – да постану рушевина, предмет згражавања, презира и проклињања, као што су данас –
19 фараон, цар Египта, његови службеници, поглавари и сав народ 20 и сви страни народи међу њима,
сви цареви земље Уц,
сви цареви Филистејаца – Ашкелона, Газе, Екрона и народа преосталог у Ашдоду –
21 Едома, Моава и Амона,
22 сви цареви Тира и Сидона,
цареви обалских земаља на другој страни мора,
23 Дедана, Теме, Буза и сви који су далеко,
24 сви цареви Арабије и сви цареви страних народа који живе у пустињи,
25 сви цареви Зимрија, Елама и Медије,
26 и сви цареви севера, близу и далеко, један за другим –
сва царства на лицу земље.
А после свих њих пиће из ње и цар Шешаха[a].
27 »Онда им реци: ‚Овако каже ГОСПОД над војскама, Бог Израелов: Пијте, опијте се и повраћајте, и падните да више никада не устанете због мача који ћу послати међу вас.‘
28 »А ако одбију да узму чашу из твоје руке и да пију из ње, реци им: ‚Овако каже ГОСПОД над војскама: Морате да пијете! 29 Јер, ево, почео сам да доводим велику несрећу на град који носи моје Име, а ви да се извучете без казне? Нећете се извући без казне, јер дозивам мач да сиђе на све становнике земље, говори ГОСПОД над војскама.‘
30 »Пророкуј све ово против њих и реци им:
»‚ГОСПОД ће зарикати са висине,
загрмети из свога светог пребивалишта
и силно зарикати на ову земљу.
Викаће као они што газе грожђе
на све становнике земље.
31 Поклич ће одјекнути до крајева света,
јер ће ГОСПОД повести парницу против народâ,
судити свем људском роду
и опаке погубити мачем‘«,
говори ГОСПОД.
32 Овако каже ГОСПОД над војскама:
»Ево, велика несрећа већ иде од народа до народа,
силна се олуја диже са крајева света.«
33 А побијених ће тога дана бити од једног краја света до другог. Нико их неће ожалити, ни покупити, ни сахранити, него ће бити као ђубриво на тлу.
34 Кукајте, пастири, и плачите,
ваљајте се у прашини, водичи стада,
јер је дошло време вашега клања
– пашћете и разбити се
као драгоцен суд грнчарски.
35 Пастири немају куда да побегну,
водичи стада куда да умакну.
36 Чуј вапај пастирâ,
кукњаву водичâ стада,
јер им ГОСПОД уништава пашњак.
37 Мирне ливаде су опустошене
због љутог гнева ГОСПОДЊЕГ.
38 Он ће изаћи као лав из јазбине,
и земља ће им бити опустошена
због мача тлачитељевог
и због љутог гнева ГОСПОДЊЕГ.

25 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
2 The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
4 And the Lord hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
5 They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
6 And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the Lord; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
9 Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the Lord, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
10 Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
13 And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
14 For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
15 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
16 And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
17 Then took I the cup at the Lord's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the Lord had sent me:
18 To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
20 And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon,
22 And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
24 And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
25 And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
26 And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
27 Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.
30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The Lord shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the Lord hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the Lord.
32 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
33 And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
34 Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.
36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the Lord hath spoiled their pasture.
37 And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.

Seventy Years of Desolation
25 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah, (A)in the fourth year of (B)Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah (which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), 2 which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to all the people of Judah and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying: 3 (C)“From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even to this day, this is the twenty-third year in which the word of the Lord has come to me; and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, (D)but you have not listened. 4 And the Lord has sent to you all His servants the prophets, (E)rising early and sending them, but you have not listened nor inclined your ear to hear. 5 They said, (F)‘Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever. 6 Do not go after other gods to serve them and worship them, and do not provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands; and I will not harm you.’ 7 Yet you have not listened to Me,” says the Lord, “that you might (G)provoke Me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
8 “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Because you have not heard My words, 9 behold, I will send and take (H)all the families of the north,’ says the Lord, ‘and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, (I)My servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and (J)make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations. 10 Moreover I will [a]take from them the (K)voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, (L)the sound of the millstones and the light of the lamp. 11 And this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy (M)years.
12 ‘Then it will come to pass, (N)when [b]seventy years are completed, that I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, the land of the Chaldeans, for their iniquity,’ says the Lord; (O)‘and I will make it a perpetual desolation. 13 So I will bring on that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations. 14 (P)(For many nations (Q)and great kings shall (R)be served by them also; (S)and I will repay them according to their deeds and according to the works of their own hands.)’ ”
Judgment on the Nations
15 For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me: “Take this (T)wine cup of [c]fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it. 16 And (U)they will drink and stagger and go mad because of the sword that I will send among them.”
17 Then I took the cup from the Lord’s hand, and made all the nations drink, to whom the Lord had sent me: 18 Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, its kings and its princes, to make them (V)a desolation, an astonishment, a hissing, and (W)a curse, as it is this day; 19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, his servants, his princes, and all his people; 20 all the mixed multitude, all the kings of (X)the land of Uz, all the kings of the land of the (Y)Philistines (namely, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and (Z)the remnant of Ashdod); 21 (AA)Edom, Moab, and the people of Ammon; 22 all the kings of (AB)Tyre, all the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the coastlands which are across the (AC)sea; 23 (AD)Dedan, Tema, Buz, and all who are in the farthest corners; 24 all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the (AE)mixed multitude who dwell in the desert; 25 all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of (AF)Elam, and all the kings of the (AG)Medes; 26 (AH)all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world which are on the face of the earth. Also the king of [d]Sheshach shall drink after them.
27 “Therefore you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: (AI)“Drink, (AJ)be drunk, and vomit! Fall and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.” ’ 28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “You shall certainly drink! 29 For behold, (AK)I begin to bring calamity on the city (AL)which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for (AM)I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the Lord of hosts.’
30 “Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:
‘The Lord will (AN)roar from on high,
And utter His voice from (AO)His holy habitation;
He will roar mightily against (AP)His fold.
He will give (AQ)a shout, as those who tread the grapes,
Against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 A noise will come to the ends of the earth—
For the Lord has (AR)a controversy with the nations;
(AS)He will plead His case with all flesh.
He will give those who are wicked to the sword,’ says the Lord.”
32 Thus says the Lord of hosts:
“Behold, disaster shall go forth
From nation to nation,
And (AT)a great whirlwind shall be raised up
From the farthest parts of the earth.
33 (AU)And at that day the slain of the Lord shall be from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be (AV)lamented, (AW)or gathered, or buried; they shall become refuse on the ground.
34 “Wail,(AX) shepherds, and cry!
Roll about in the ashes,
You leaders of the flock!
For the days of your slaughter and your dispersions are fulfilled;
You shall fall like a precious vessel.
35 And the shepherds will have no [e]way to flee,
Nor the leaders of the flock to escape.
36 A voice of the cry of the shepherds,
And a wailing of the leaders to the flock will be heard.
For the Lord has plundered their pasture,
37 And the peaceful dwellings are cut down
Because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 He has left His lair like the lion;
For their land is desolate
Because of the fierceness of the Oppressor,
And because of His fierce anger.”
