6 Горе вам, беззаботным на Сионе,
и вам, кто в Самарии чувствует себя в безопасности,
вам, знати первого из народов,
к которым приходят израильтяне!
2 Пойдите в Халне и посмотрите на него;
оттуда пойдите в великий Хамат,
потом сойдите в Гат филистимский.
Лучше ли они двух ваших царств?[a]
Больше ли их земля, чем ваша?
3 Вы пытаетесь отдалить день бедствия
и приближаете торжество насилия.
4 Вы лежите на кроватях, украшенных слоновой костью,
нежитесь на своих ложах.
Вы питаетесь лучшими ягнятами
и упитанными телятами.
5 Вы горланите под звуки арфы
и думаете, что сочиняете песни, как Давид.
6 Вы пьете вино чашами,
мажетесь лучшими благовониями,
но не горюете о крушении Иосифа.

и кончится ликование изнеженных.

– Я гнушаюсь гордостью Иакова,

Я отдам город врагам
со всем, что есть в нем.
9 Даже если десять человек останутся в одном доме, то умрут и они. 10 И если кто-то еще скроется в доме, и придет родственник или тот, кто должен вынести и сжечь тела, и спросит его: «Есть ли кто еще с тобой?» – а тот ответит: «Нет», то он скажет: «Тихо! Мы не должны упоминать имени Господа».
11 Вот, Господь дал повеление
и разобьет большие дома на части,
а маленькие на куски.
12 Скачут ли лошади по скале?
Пашут ли там на волах?
Вы же превратили правосудие в яд
и плод праведности – в горечь;
13 вы, ликующие о завоевании Ло-Девара[b]
и говорящие: «Разве не собственными силами
взяли мы Карнаим?»[c]
14 Господь, Бог Сил, возвещает:
– Я подниму против вас народ, о дом Израиля,
который будет угнетать вас
от Лево-Хамата[d] до Иорданской долины.

6 在錫安生活安逸舒適的人啊，
你們有禍了！
在撒瑪利亞山上自覺無憂的人啊，
你們有禍了！
你們是列國之首以色列的顯要，
以色列人都仰望你們。
2 你們去甲尼看看，
然後從那裡到哈瑪大城，
再到非利士人的迦特看看。
你們比這些國家更好嗎？
他們的領土不比你們的更廣闊嗎？
3 你們以為災難的日子離得還遠，
就大肆施行暴政。
4 你們躺在象牙床上，靠在臥榻上，
你們吃養在圈裡的肥嫩牛羊。
5 你們伴著琴聲唱慵懶的歌，
像大衛一樣為自己製造樂器。
6 你們以大碗狂飲，

6 Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and to them that are secure in the mountain of Samaria, the notable men of the chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel come! 2 Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines: are they better than these kingdoms? or is their border greater than your border? 3 —ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the [a]seat of violence to come near; 4 that lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; 5 that sing idle songs to the sound of the viol; that invent for themselves instruments of music, [b]like David; 6 that drink [c]wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief oils; but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
7 Therefore shall they now go captive with the first that go captive; and the revelry of them that stretched themselves shall pass away. 8 The Lord Jehovah hath sworn by himself, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts: I abhor the [d]excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces; therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein. 9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house, that they shall die. 10 And when a man’s [e]uncle shall take him up, even he that burneth him, to bring out the bones out of the house, and shall say unto him that is in the innermost parts of the house, Is there yet any with thee? and he shall say, No; then shall he say, Hold thy peace; for we may not make mention of the name of Jehovah. 11 For, behold, Jehovah commandeth, and [f]the great house shall be smitten with breaches, and the little house with clefts.
12 Shall horses run upon the rock? will one plow there with oxen? that ye have turned justice into gall, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood; 13 ye that rejoice in a thing of nought, that say, Have we not taken to us horns by our own strength? 14 For, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, saith Jehovah, the God of hosts; and they shall afflict you from the entrance of Hamath unto the brook of the Arabah.

Woe to the Complacent
6 Woe to you(A) who are complacent(B) in Zion,
and to you who feel secure(C) on Mount Samaria,(D)
you notable men of the foremost nation,
to whom the people of Israel come!(E)
2 Go to Kalneh(F) and look at it;
go from there to great Hamath,(G)
and then go down to Gath(H) in Philistia.
Are they better off than(I) your two kingdoms?
Is their land larger than yours?
3 You put off the day of disaster
and bring near a reign of terror.(J)
4 You lie on beds adorned with ivory
and lounge on your couches.(K)
You dine on choice lambs
and fattened calves.(L)
5 You strum away on your harps(M) like David
and improvise on musical instruments.(N)
6 You drink wine(O) by the bowlful
and use the finest lotions,
but you do not grieve(P) over the ruin of Joseph.(Q)
7 Therefore you will be among the first to go into exile;(R)
your feasting and lounging will end.(S)
The Lord Abhors the Pride of Israel
8 The Sovereign Lord has sworn by himself(T)—the Lord God Almighty declares:
“I abhor(U) the pride of Jacob(V)
and detest his fortresses;(W)
I will deliver up(X) the city
and everything in it.(Y)”
9 If ten(Z) people are left in one house, they too will die. 10 And if the relative who comes to carry the bodies out of the house to burn them[a](AA) asks anyone who might be hiding there, “Is anyone else with you?” and he says, “No,” then he will go on to say, “Hush!(AB) We must not mention the name of the Lord.”
11 For the Lord has given the command,
and he will smash(AC) the great house(AD) into pieces
and the small house into bits.(AE)
