8 και οταν ηνοιξεν την σφραγιδα την εβδομην εγενετο σιγη εν τω ουρανω ως ημιωριον
2 και ειδον τους επτα αγγελους οι ενωπιον του θεου εστηκασιν και εδοθησαν αυτοις επτα σαλπιγγες
3 και αλλος αγγελος ηλθεν και εσταθη επι του θυσιαστηριου εχων λιβανωτον χρυσουν και εδοθη αυτω θυμιαματα πολλα ινα δωσει ταις προσευχαις των αγιων παντων επι το θυσιαστηριον το χρυσουν το ενωπιον του θρονου
4 και ανεβη ο καπνος των θυμιαματων ταις προσευχαις των αγιων εκ χειρος του αγγελου ενωπιον του θεου
5 και ειληφεν ο αγγελος τον λιβανωτον και εγεμισεν αυτον εκ του πυρος του θυσιαστηριου και εβαλεν εις την γην και εγενοντο βρονται και φωναι και αστραπαι και σεισμος
6 και οι επτα αγγελοι οι εχοντες τας επτα σαλπιγγας ητοιμασαν αυτους ινα σαλπισωσιν
7 και ο πρωτος εσαλπισεν και εγενετο χαλαζα και πυρ μεμιγμενα εν αιματι και εβληθη εις την γην και το τριτον της γης κατεκαη και το τριτον των δενδρων κατεκαη και πας χορτος χλωρος κατεκαη
8 και ο δευτερος αγγελος εσαλπισεν και ως ορος μεγα πυρι καιομενον εβληθη εις την θαλασσαν και εγενετο το τριτον της θαλασσης αιμα
9 και απεθανεν το τριτον των κτισματων των εν τη θαλασση τα εχοντα ψυχας και το τριτον των πλοιων διεφθαρησαν
10 και ο τριτος αγγελος εσαλπισεν και επεσεν εκ του ουρανου αστηρ μεγας καιομενος ως λαμπας και επεσεν επι το τριτον των ποταμων και επι τας πηγας των υδατων
11 και το ονομα του αστερος λεγεται ο αψινθος και εγενετο το τριτον των υδατων εις αψινθον και πολλοι των ανθρωπων απεθανον εκ των υδατων οτι επικρανθησαν
12 και ο τεταρτος αγγελος εσαλπισεν και επληγη το τριτον του ηλιου και το τριτον της σεληνης και το τριτον των αστερων ινα σκοτισθη το τριτον αυτων και η ημερα μη φανη το τριτον αυτης και η νυξ ομοιως
13 και ειδον και ηκουσα ενος αετου πετομενου εν μεσουρανηματι λεγοντος φωνη μεγαλη ουαι ουαι ουαι τους κατοικουντας επι της γης εκ των λοιπων φωνων της σαλπιγγος των τριων αγγελων των μελλοντων σαλπιζειν

8 Quando lʼAgnello ruppe il settimo sigillo, in cielo si fece silenzio per circa mezzʼora. 2 E vidi i sette angeli che stanno alla presenza di Dio: a loro furono consegnate sette trombe.
3 Poi un altro angelo avanzò e si fermò davanti allʼaltare con un incensiere dʼoro; e gli furono dati molti profumi da offrire, insieme con le preghiere del popolo di Dio, sullʼaltare dʼoro davanti al trono. 4 E il profumo dellʼincenso, insieme con le preghiere dei santi, salì dalla mano dellʼangelo fino alla presenza di Dio.
5 Allora lʼAngelo prese lʼincensiere, lo riempì coi carboni accesi dellʼaltare e lo scagliò sulla terra. Ecco che ci furono tuoni, grida, lampi, e un terremoto!
6 Allora i sette angeli, che avevano le sette trombe, si prepararono a suonarle.
7 Il primo suonò. Grandine e fuoco, misti a sangue, si riversarono sulla terra; un terzo della terra fu bruciato, come pure un terzo degli alberi e tutta lʼerba verde.
8-9 Il secondo angelo suonò. E una massa ardente, simile a una grande montagna infuocata, fu gettata nel mare, distruggendo un terzo di tutte le navi; la terza parte del mare diventò sangue e un terzo dei pesci morì.
10 Quando il terzo angelo suonò, una grande stella ardente come una fiaccola, cadde dal cielo sulla terra e colpì parte dei fiumi e delle sorgenti. 11 La stella si chiamava «Assenzio», perché avvelenò un terzo di tutte le acque della terra, che diventò amaro come lʼassenzio; e molte persone morirono.
12 Il quarto angelo suonò, e fu colpito un terzo del sole, della luna e delle stelle: la loro luce si oscurò, e il giorno e la notte perdettero un terzo della loro luminosità. 13 Allora guardai e vidi unʼaquila solitaria, che volava in mezzo al cielo, gridando a gran voce: «Guai, guai, alla gente della terra, perché capiteranno cose terribili, quando gli altri tre angeli suoneranno le loro trombe!»

Il settimo sigillo
8 Quando l'Agnello aprì il settimo sigillo, si fece silenzio in cielo per circa mezz'ora. 2 Vidi che ai sette angeli ritti davanti a Dio furono date sette trombe.
Le preghiere dei santi affrettano la venuta del grande giorno
3 Poi venne un altro angelo e si fermò all'altare, reggendo un incensiere d'oro. Gli furono dati molti profumi perché li offrisse insieme con le preghiere di tutti i santi bruciandoli sull'altare d'oro, posto davanti al trono. 4 E dalla mano dell'angelo il fumo degli aromi salì davanti a Dio, insieme con le preghiere dei santi. 5 Poi l'angelo prese l'incensiere, lo riempì del fuoco preso dall'altare e lo gettò sulla terra: ne seguirono scoppi di tuono, clamori, fulmini e scosse di terremoto.
Le prime quattro trombe
6 I sette angeli che avevano le sette trombe si accinsero a suonarle.
7 Appena il primo suonò la tromba, grandine e fuoco mescolati a sangue scrosciarono sulla terra. Un terzo della terra fu arso, un terzo degli alberi andò bruciato e ogni erba verde si seccò.
8 Il secondo angelo suonò la tromba: come una gran montagna di fuoco fu scagliata nel mare. Un terzo del mare divenne sangue, 9 un terzo delle creature che vivono nel mare morì e un terzo delle navi andò distrutto.
10 Il terzo angelo suonò la tromba e cadde dal cielo una grande stella, ardente come una torcia, e colpì un terzo dei fiumi e le sorgenti delle acque. 11 La stella si chiama Assenzio; un terzo delle acque si mutò in assenzio e molti uomini morirono per quelle acque, perché erano divenute amare.
12 Il quarto angelo suonò la tromba e un terzo del sole, un terzo della luna e un terzo degli astri fu colpito e si oscurò: il giorno perse un terzo della sua luce e la notte ugualmente.
13 Vidi poi e udii un'aquila che volava nell'alto del cielo e gridava a gran voce: «Guai, guai, guai agli abitanti della terra al suono degli ultimi squilli di tromba che i tre angeli stanno per suonare!».

The Seventh Seal and the Golden Censer
8 When he opened the seventh seal,(A) there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels(B) who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.(C)
3 Another angel,(D) who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people,(E) on the golden altar(F) in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God(G) from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar,(H) and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder,(I) rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.(J)
The Trumpets
6 Then the seven angels who had the seven trumpets(K) prepared to sound them.
7 The first angel(L) sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire(M) mixed with blood, and it was hurled down on the earth. A third(N) of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.(O)
8 The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain,(P) all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third(Q) of the sea turned into blood,(R) 9 a third(S) of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky(T) on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water(U)— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third(V) of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.(W)
12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third(X) of them turned dark.(Y) A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.(Z)
13 As I watched, I heard an eagle that was flying in midair(AA) call out in a loud voice: “Woe! Woe! Woe(AB) to the inhabitants of the earth,(AC) because of the trumpet blasts about to be sounded by the other three angels!”
