  233. And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas.
  234. “As I was on my way and drew near to Damascus, about noon a great light from heaven suddenly shone around me.
  235. Now those who were with me saw the light but did not understand the voice of the one who was speaking to me.
  236. And since I could not see because of the brightness of that light, I was led by the hand by those who were with me, and came into Damascus.
  237. At midday, O king, I saw on the way a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, that shone around me and those who journeyed with me.
  238. to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
  239. that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.”
  240. And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, throwing out the wheat into the sea.
  241. and if you are sure that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,
  242. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
  243. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God.
  244. The Light of the Gospel

    Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.
  245. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
  246. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
  247. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,
  248. The Temple of the Living God

    Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?
  249. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
  250. and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things,
  251. for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light
  252. (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true),
  253. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible,
  254. for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
  255. Lights in the World

    Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling,
  256. that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
  257. giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
  258. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness.
  259. who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.
  260. and which now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,
  261. And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him.
  262. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
  263. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
  264. Walking in the Light

    This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
  265. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.
  266. At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
  267. Whoever says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness.
  268. Whoever loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling.
  269. From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God,
  270. Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and threw it on the earth, and there were peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning, and an earthquake.
  271. The fourth angel blew his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of their light might be darkened, and a third of the day might be kept from shining, and likewise a third of the night.
  272. Then God's temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.
  273. And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake.
  274. and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.
  275. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
  276. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it,
  277. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
