  1. The Creation of the World

    In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
  2. and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.
  3. And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,
  4. And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.”
  5. Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
  6. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
  7. And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.
  8. The Seventh Day, God Rests

    Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
  9. The Creation of Man and Woman

    These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
  10. and seven pairs of the birds of the heavens also, male and female, to keep their offspring alive on the face of all the earth.
  11. And the waters prevailed so mightily on the earth that all the high mountains under the whole heaven were covered.
  12. He blotted out every living thing that was on the face of the ground, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those who were with him in the ark.
  13. The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.
  14. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”
  15. And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth;
  16. But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted my hand to the Lord, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth,
  17. that I may make you swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell,
  18. I will multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and will give to your offspring all these lands. And in your offspring all the nations of the earth shall be blessed,
  19. May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine.
  20. Then Isaac his father answered and said to him: “Behold, away from the fatness of the earth shall your dwelling be, and away from the dew of heaven on high.
  21. And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it!
  22. Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
  23. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

  28. The Lord Alone Is God

    “For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and ask from one end of heaven to the other, whether such a great thing as this has ever happened or was ever heard of.
  29. Out of heaven he let you hear his voice, that he might discipline you. And on earth he let you see his great fire, and you heard his words out of the midst of the fire.
  30. know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other.
  31. Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.

  139. Lay Up Treasures in Heaven
