The Beginning

⁴⁵ The one who looks at me is seeing the one who sent me.^(A)

³ And they were calling to one another:

¹⁴ To the Lord your God belong the heavens,^(A) even the highest heavens,^(B) the earth and everything in it.^{(C) 15} Yet the Lord set his affection on your ancestors and loved^(D) them, and he chose you,^(E) their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today.^{(F) 16} Circumcise^(G) your hearts,^(H) therefore, and do not be stiff-necked^(I) any longer. ¹⁷ For the Lord your God is God of gods^(J) and Lord of lords,^(K) the great God, mighty and awesome,^(L) who shows no partiality^(M) and accepts no bribes.^(N)

⁸ Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.^(A)

¹⁵ which God will bring about in his own time^(A)—God, the blessed^(B) and only Ruler,^(C) the King of kings and Lord of lords,^(D)

⁴ Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.^[a](A)

¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,^(A) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,^(B)
