For (A)none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, (B)whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ (C)died and lived again, that he might be Lord both (D)of the dead and of the living.

10 Why do you pass judgement on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For (E)we will all stand before (F)the judgement seat of God; 11 for it is written,

(G)“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
    and every tongue shall confess[a] to God.”

12 So then (H)each of us will give an account of himself to God.

  1. Romans 14:11 Or shall give praise

For none of us lives for ourselves alone,(A) and none of us dies for ourselves alone. If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.(B) For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life(C) so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.(D)

10 You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister[a]? Or why do you treat them with contempt?(E) For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.(F) 11 It is written:

“‘As surely as I live,’(G) says the Lord,
‘every knee will bow before me;
    every tongue will acknowledge God.’”[b](H)

12 So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.(I)
