²⁹And as Isaiah predicted,

^(A)^(B)“If the Lord of hosts had not left us offspring,
^(C)we would have been like Sodom
and become like Gomorrah.”

And we would have been made like Gomorrah.”

⁴For when we were with you, we kept telling you beforehand that we were to suffer affliction, ^(A)just as it has come to pass, and just as you know.
