⁶ They slay the widow^(A) and the foreigner;
    they murder the fatherless.^(B)
7 They say, “The Lord does not see;^(C)
    the God of Jacob^(D) takes no notice.”

    I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.^(B)

    your consolation^(B) brought me joy.

²² But the Lord has become my fortress,

23 He will repay^(C) them for their sins
    and destroy^(D) them for their wickedness;
    the Lord our God will destroy them.
