My Help Comes from the Lord

121 I ^(B)lift up my eyes to ^(C)the hills.
From where does my help come?
²^(D)My help comes from the Lord,
who ^(E)made heaven and earth.

³He will not ^(F)let your foot be moved;
he who ^(G)keeps you will not slumber.
⁴Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

⁵The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is your ^(H)shade on your ^(I)right hand.
⁶^(J)The sun shall not ^(K)strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.

⁷The Lord will ^(L)keep you from all evil;
    he will ^(M)keep your life.
⁸The Lord will keep
    your ^(N)going out and your coming in
    from this time forth and forevermore.

⁴^(A)“Give attention to me, my people,
    and give ear to me, my nation;
^(B)for a law^[a] will go out from me,
    and I will set my justice for a light to the peoples.
⁵^(C)My righteousness draws near,
    my salvation has gone out,
    and my arms will judge the peoples;
^(D)the coastlands hope for me,
    and for my arm they wait.
⁶^(E)Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
    and look at the earth beneath;
^(F)for the heavens vanish like smoke,
    the earth will wear out like a garment,
    and they who dwell in it will die in like manner;^[b]
^(G)but my salvation will be forever,
    and my righteousness will never be dismayed.

⁷^(H)“Listen to me, you who know righteousness,
    the people ^(I)in whose heart is my law;
^(J)fear not the reproach of man,
    nor be dismayed at their revilings.
⁸^(K)For the moth will eat them up like a garment,
    and the worm will eat them like wool,
^(L)but my righteousness will be forever,
    and my salvation to all generations.”

Jesus Heals a Centurion's Servant

7 After he had finished all his sayings in the hearing of the people, ^(A)he entered Capernaum. ²Now a centurion had a servant^[a] who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by him. ³When the centurion^[b] heard about Jesus, ^(B)he sent to him elders of the Jews, asking him to come and heal his servant. ⁴And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, ^(C)“He is worthy to have you do this for him, ⁵for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us ^(D)our synagogue.” ⁶And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, ^(E)do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. ⁷Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But ^(F)say the word, and let my servant be healed. ⁸For I too am a man set under authority, with soldiers under me: and I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” ⁹When Jesus heard these things, ^(G)he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such ^(H)faith.” ¹⁰And when those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well.
