^17 (A)for I will surely do you great honor, and whatever you say to me I will do. ^(B)Come, curse this people for me.’”

¹¹ Therefore now flee to your own place. I said, ^(A)‘I will certainly honor you,’ but the Lord has held you back from honor.”

²⁶ For ^(A)what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or ^(B)what shall a man give in return for his soul?

⁷ so that he promised with an oath to give her whatever she might ask.

^8 (A)Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. ⁹ And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.”

⁹ Then ^(A)Harbona, one of the eunuchs in attendance on the king, said, “Moreover, ^(B)the gallows^[a] that Haman has prepared for Mordecai, ^(C)whose word saved the king, is standing at Haman's house, fifty cubits^[b] high.” And the king said, “Hang him on that.”

¹¹ And Haman recounted to them the splendor of his riches, ^(A)the number of his sons, all the promotions with which ^(B)the king had honored him, and how he had advanced him above the officials and the servants of the king.

The Feast of Weeks

^9 (A)“You shall count seven weeks. Begin to count the seven weeks from the time the sickle is first put to the standing grain.
