¹⁸ And Jesus came and said to them, ^(A)“All authority ^(B)in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ^19 (C)Go therefore and ^(D)make disciples of ^(E)all nations, ^(F)baptizing them ^(G)in^{[a] (H)}the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ teaching them ^(I)to observe all that ^(J)I have commanded you. And behold, ^(K)I am with you always, to ^(L)the end of the age.”

¹⁵ And he said to them, ^(A)“Go into all the world and ^(B)proclaim the gospel to ^(C)the whole creation. ^16 (D)Whoever believes and is ^(E)baptized ^(F)will be saved, but ^(G)whoever ^(H)does not believe will be condemned. ¹⁷ And ^(I)these signs will accompany those who believe: ^(J)in my name they will cast out demons; ^(K)they will speak in new tongues; ^18 (L)they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; ^(M)they will lay their hands ^(N)on the sick, and they will recover.”

⁴⁵ Then ^(A)he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and said to them, “Thus ^(B)it is written, ^(C)that the Christ should suffer and on the third day ^(D)rise from the dead, ⁴⁷ and that ^(E)repentance for^[a] the forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed ^(F)in his name ^(G)to all nations, ^(H)beginning from Jerusalem. ^48 (I)You are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And behold, I am sending ^(J)the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you ^(K)are clothed with ^(L)power ^(M)from on high.”

²¹ Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As ^(A)the Father has sent me, ^(B)even so I am sending you.” ²² And when he had said this, he ^(C)breathed on them and said to them, ^(D)“Receive the Holy Spirit. ^23 (E)If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

⁸ But you will receive ^(A)power ^(B)when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and ^(C)you will be ^(D)my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and ^(E)Samaria, and ^(F)to the end of the earth.”
