³⁵ For ^(A)I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you ^(B)gave me drink, ^(C)I was a stranger and you welcomed me, ^36 (D)I was naked and you clothed me, ^(E)I was sick and you ^(F)visited me, ^(G)I was in prison and you came to me.’ ³⁷ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? ³⁸ And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? ³⁹ And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ ⁴⁰ And ^(H)the King will answer them, ^(I)‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these ^(J)my brothers,^[a] you did it to me.’

⁴¹ “Then he will say to those on his left, ^(K)‘Depart from me, you ^(L)cursed, into ^(M)the eternal fire prepared for ^(N)the devil and his angels.

^11 (A)Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous^[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: ^(A)neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,^{[b] 10} nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

^43 (A)And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to ^(B)hell,^[a] to ^(C)the unquenchable fire.^{[b] 45 (D)}And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into ^(E)hell. ^47 (F)And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into ^(G)hell, ⁴⁸ ‘where ^(H)their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’

⁹ then ^(A)the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials,^[a] and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,

⁷ just as ^(A)Sodom and Gomorrah and ^(B)the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and ^(C)pursued unnatural desire,^[a] serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

^19 (A)Their end is destruction, ^(B)their god is their belly, and ^(C)they glory in their shame, with ^(D)minds set on earthly things.

¹⁰ For ^(A)we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, ^(B)so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

The Ministry of Reconciliation

¹¹ Therefore, knowing ^(C)the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But ^(D)what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.

³⁶ Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that ^(A)sower and ^(B)reaper ^(C)may rejoice together.
