Luke 24:46-53
New King James Version
46 Then He said to them, (A)“Thus it is written, [a]and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and (B)remission of sins should be preached in His name (C)to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And (D)you are witnesses of these things. 49 (E)Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city [b]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”
The Ascension(F)
50 And He led them out (G)as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 (H)Now it came to pass, while He blessed them, that He was parted from them and carried up into heaven. 52 (I)And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually (J)in the temple [c]praising and blessing God. [d]Amen.

46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer(A) and rise from the dead on the third day,(B) 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name(C) to all nations,(D) beginning at Jerusalem.(E) 48 You are witnesses(F) of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised;(G) but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

50 When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany,(H) he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.(I) 52 Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. 53 And they stayed continually at the temple,(J) praising God.
