28 So they drew near to the village to which they were going. (A)He acted as if he were going farther, 29 but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and (B)the day is now far spent.” So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and (C)blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31 (D)And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And (E)he vanished from their sight. 32 They said to each other, (F)“Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he (G)opened to us the Scriptures?” 33 And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they (H)found the eleven and (I)those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and (J)has appeared to Simon!” 35 Then they told what had happened on the road, and (K)how he was known to them in (L)the breaking of the bread.

30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it(A) and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him,(B) and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us(C) while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures(D) to us?”

33 They got up and returned at once to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven and those with them, assembled together 34 and saying, “It is true! The Lord(E) has risen and has appeared to Simon.”(F) 35 Then the two told what had happened on the way, and how Jesus was recognized by them when he broke the bread.(G)
