Hosea 5:13-6:3

New International Version

¹³“When Ephraim^(A) saw his sickness,
    and Judah his sores,
then Ephraim turned to Assyria,^(B)
    and sent to the great king for help.^(C)
But he is not able to cure^(D) you,
    not able to heal your sores.^(E)
¹⁴For I will be like a lion^(F) to Ephraim,
    like a great lion to Judah.
I will tear them to pieces^(G) and go away;
    I will carry them off, with no one to rescue them.^(H)
¹⁵Then I will return to my lair^(I)
    until they have borne their guilt^(J)
    and seek my face^(K)—
in their misery^(L)
    they will earnestly seek me.^(M)”

    let us press on to acknowledge him.
As surely as the sun rises,
