^2 (A)And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. ³ Then God ^(B)blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

^38 (A)driving out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day. ³⁹ Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that ^(B)the Lord Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. ^40 (C)You shall therefore keep His statutes and His commandments which I command you today, that ^[a]it may go well with you and with your children after you, and that you may ^[b]prolong your days in the land which the Lord your God is giving you for all time.”

²² But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then ^(A)I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.

^8 (A)This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but ^(B)you^[a] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Israel’s Disobedience

2 Then the Angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said: ^(A)“I led you up from Egypt and ^(B)brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and ^(C)I said, ‘I will never break My covenant with you.

Christ Fulfills the Law

^17 (A)“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

⁴ He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a ^(A)liar, and the truth is not in him. ⁵ But ^(B)whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God ^[a]is perfected ^(C)in him. By this we know that we are in Him.

¹⁷ And ^(A)the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
