The Creation of the World

1 In the ^(A)beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

²⁶ Then God said, ^(A)“Let us make man^[a] in our image, ^(B)after our likeness. And ^(C)let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

The Word Became Flesh

1 ^(A)In the beginning was ^(B)the Word, and ^(C)the Word was with God, and ^(D)the Word was God.

^3 (A)All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

^19 (A)Go therefore and ^(B)make disciples of ^(C)all nations, ^(D)baptizing them ^(E)in^{[a] (F)}the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

²⁴ God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”

¹⁹ For what can be ^(A)known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.

^5 (A)one Lord, ^(B)one faith, ^(C)one baptism, ^6 (D)one God and Father of all, ^(E)who is over all and through all and in all.
