¹² Abram settled in the land of Canaan, while Lot settled among the cities of the valley and moved his tent as far as Sodom.

²⁹ So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God ^(A)remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

¹² They also took Lot, ^(A)the son of Abram's brother, ^(B)who was dwelling in Sodom, and his possessions, and went their way.

⁷ and ^(A)if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked ⁸ (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, ^(B)he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard);

^33 (A)Do not be deceived: ^(B)“Bad company ruins good morals.”^[a]

²⁵ And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

God Rescues Lot

19 The ^(A)two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth
