⁶ “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.^(A) I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem^(B) you with an outstretched arm^(C) and with mighty acts of judgment.^{(D) 7} I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God.^(E) Then you will know^(F) that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.

7 Then the Lord said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God^(A) to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.^{(B) 2} You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. ³ But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart,^(C) and though I multiply my signs and wonders^(D) in Egypt, ⁴ he will not listen^(E) to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment^(F) I will bring out my divisions,^(G) my people the Israelites. ⁵ And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord^(H) when I stretch out my hand^(I) against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”

⁶ Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded^(J) them. ⁷ Moses was eighty years old^(K) and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

³² Two other men, both criminals, were also led out with him to be executed.^{(A) 33} When they came to the place called the Skull, they crucified him there, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. ³⁴ Jesus said, “Father,^(B) forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”^[a](C) And they divided up his clothes by casting lots.^(D)
