32 So all the work of the [a]tabernacle of the tent of meeting was completed; and the sons of Israel did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses; so they did. 33 Then they brought the tabernacle to Moses, the tent and all its [b]furnishings: its clasps, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bases; 34 and the covering of rams’ skins [c]dyed red, and the covering of [d]fine leather, and the covering curtain; 35 the ark of the testimony, its poles, and the [e]atoning cover; 36 the table, all its utensils, and the bread of the [f]Presence; 37 the pure gold lampstand, [g]with its arrangement of lamps and all its utensils, and the oil for the light; 38 and the gold altar, and the anointing oil and the fragrant incense, and the curtain for the doorway of the tent; 39 the [h]bronze altar and its [i]bronze grating, its poles and all its utensils, the basin and its stand; 40 the hangings for the courtyard, its pillars and its bases, and the curtain for the gate of the courtyard, its ropes and its pegs, and all the [j]equipment for the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of meeting; 41 the woven garments for ministering in the Holy Place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments of his sons, to serve as priests. 42 So the sons of Israel did all the work according to everything that the Lord had commanded Moses. 43 And Moses [k]examined all the work, and behold, they had done it; just as the Lord had commanded, this they had done. So Moses (A)blessed them.

The Tabernacle Erected

40 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, (B)On the first day of the first month you shall set up the [l]tabernacle of the tent of meeting. (C)You shall place the ark of the testimony there, and you shall screen off the ark with the veil. Then you shall (D)bring in the table and (E)arrange [m]what belongs on it; and you shall (F)bring in the lampstand and [n]mount its lamps. You shall also (G)set the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the testimony, and set up the curtain for the doorway to the tabernacle. And you shall set the altar of burnt offering in front of the doorway of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting. Then you shall (H)set the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water [o]in it. You shall also set up the courtyard all around and [p]hang up the curtain for the gate of the courtyard. Then you shall take the anointing oil and (I)anoint the tabernacle and everything that is in it, and consecrate it and all its [q]furnishings; and it shall be holy. 10 You shall also anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and consecrate the altar, and (J)the altar shall be most holy. 11 And you shall anoint the basin and its stand, and consecrate it. 12 Then you shall (K)bring Aaron and his sons to the doorway of the tent of meeting and wash them with water. 13 And (L)you shall put the holy garments on Aaron and anoint him and consecrate him, so that he may serve as a priest to Me. 14 You shall also bring his sons and put tunics on them; 15 and you shall anoint them just as you have anointed their father, so that they may serve as priests to Me; and their anointing will [r]qualify them for a (M)permanent priesthood throughout their generations.” 16 So Moses did these things; according to all that the Lord had commanded him, so he did.

17 Now (N)in the first month [s]of the second year, on the first day of the month, the [t]tabernacle was erected. 18 Moses erected the tabernacle and [u]laid its bases, and set up its boards, and [v]inserted its bars, and erected its pillars. 19 And he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering of the tent [w]on top of it, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 20 Then he took (O)the testimony and put it into the ark, and [x]attached the poles to the ark, and put the [y]atoning cover [z]on top of the ark. 21 He then brought the ark into the tabernacle, and (P)set up a veil for the covering, and screened off the ark of the testimony, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 22 He also (Q)put the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle, outside the veil. 23 And he set the arrangement of (R)bread in order on it before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 24 Then he placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting, opposite the table, on the south side of the tabernacle. 25 And he (S)lighted the lamps before the Lord, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 26 Then he (T)placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the veil; 27 and he (U)burned fragrant incense on it, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 28 Then he set up the curtain for the doorway of the tabernacle. 29 And he (V)set the altar of burnt offering in front of the doorway of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and (W)offered on it the burnt offering and the meal offering, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 30 He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it for washing. 31 (X)From it Moses and Aaron and his sons washed their hands and their feet. 32 When they entered the tent of meeting, and when they approached the altar, they washed, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. 33 And he (Y)erected the courtyard all around the [aa]tabernacle and the altar, and [ab]hung up the curtain for the gate of the courtyard. So Moses finished the work.

The Glory of the Lord

34 (Z)Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the (AA)glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses (AB)was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. 36 Throughout their journeys, (AC)whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the sons of Israel would set out; 37 but (AD)if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not set out until the day when it was taken up. 38 For throughout their journeys, (AE)the cloud of the Lord was on the tabernacle by day, and there was fire in it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel.

The Cloud on the Tabernacle

15 Now on (A)the day that the tabernacle was erected, (B)the cloud covered the tabernacle, the (C)tent of the testimony, and (D)in the evening it was like the appearance of fire over the tabernacle until morning. 16 That is how it was continuously; (E)the cloud would cover it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17 (F)Whenever the cloud was lifted from over the tent, afterward the sons of Israel would set out; and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the sons of Israel would camp. 18 At the [a]command of the Lord the sons of Israel would set out, and at the [b]command of the Lord they would camp; (G)as long as the cloud settled over the tabernacle, they remained camped. 19 Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, [c]the sons of Israel would comply with the Lords ordinance and not set out. 20 If [d]sometimes the cloud remained a few days over the tabernacle, (H)in accordance with the [e]command of the Lord they remained camped. Then in accordance with the [f]command of the Lord they set out. 21 If [g]sometimes the cloud [h]remained from evening until morning, when the cloud was lifted in the morning they would set out; or if it remained in the daytime and at night, whenever the cloud was lifted, they would set out. 22 Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the sons of Israel remained camped and did not set out; but (I)when it was lifted, they did set out. 23 (J)At the [i]command of the Lord they camped, and at the [j]command of the Lord they set out; they did what the Lord required, in accordance with the [k]command of the Lord through Moses.
