The Feasts of Passover, of Weeks, and of Booths

16 “Observe (A)the month of Abib and [a](B)celebrate the Passover to the Lord your God, for in the month of Abib the Lord your God brought you out of Egypt by night. You shall sacrifice the Passover to the Lord your God from the flock and the herd, in the place where the Lord chooses to establish His name. (C)You shall not eat leavened bread with it; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of affliction (for you came out of the land of Egypt in a hurry), so that you will remember the day when you came out of the land of Egypt (D)all the days of your life. For seven days no leaven shall be seen with you in your entire territory, and (E)none of the meat which you sacrifice on the evening of the first day shall be left overnight until the morning. You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover in any of your [b]towns which the Lord your God is giving you; but only (F)at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name, you shall sacrifice the Passover in the evening at sunset, at the time that you came out of Egypt. You shall (G)cook and eat it in the place which the Lord your God chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents. For six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and (H)on the seventh day there shall be (I)a festive assembly to the Lord your God; you shall do no work on it.

(J)You shall count seven weeks for yourself; you shall begin to count seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. 10 Then you shall [c]celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with a [d]voluntary offering of your hand in a proportional amount, which you shall give just as the Lord your God blesses you; 11 and you shall (K)rejoice before the Lord your God, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and (L)the Levite who is in your [e]town, and (M)the stranger, the [f]orphan, and the widow who are in your midst, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name. 12 (N)You shall also remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful and [g]comply with these statutes.

13 (O)You shall [h]celebrate the Feast of [i]Booths for seven days when you have gathered in from your threshing floor and your wine vat; 14 and you shall (P)rejoice in your feast, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and the Levite, the stranger, the [j]orphan, and the widow who are in your [k]towns. 15 For seven days you shall celebrate a feast to the Lord your God in the place which the Lord chooses, because the Lord your God will bless you in all your produce and in all the work of your hands, so that you will be altogether joyful.

16 (Q)Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord your God at the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Booths; and (R)they are not to appear before the Lord empty-handed. 17 Everyone [l]shall give as he is able, in accordance with the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.

Three National Feasts

14 (A)Three times a year you shall celebrate a feast to Me. 15 You shall keep (B)the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the (C)month of Abib, for in [a]that month you came out of Egypt. And [b](D)no one is to appear before Me empty-handed. 16 Also you shall keep (E)the Feast of the Harvest of the first fruits of your labors from what you sow in the field; also the Feast of the Ingathering at the end of the year (F)when you gather in the fruit of your labors from the field. 17 (G)Three times a year all your males shall appear before the Lord [c]God.

18 (H)You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; (I)nor is the fat of My [d]feast to remain overnight until morning.

19 “You shall bring (J)the choice first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God.

(K)You are not to boil a young goat in the milk of its mother.

The Covenant Renewed

10 Then [a]God said, “Behold, (A)I am going to make a covenant. Before all your people (B)I will perform miracles which have not been [b]produced in all the earth nor among any of the nations; and all the people [c]among whom you live will see the working of the Lord, for it is a fearful thing that I am going to perform with you.

11 [d]Be sure to comply with what I am commanding you this day: behold, (C)I am going to drive out the Amorite from you, and the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite. 12 (D)Be careful that you do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land into which you are going, or it will become a snare in your midst. 13 (E)But rather, you are to tear down their altars and smash their memorial stones, and cut down their [e](F)Asherim 14 —for (G)you shall not worship any other god, because the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God— 15 otherwise you might make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they would prostitute themselves with their gods and (H)sacrifice to their gods, and someone (I)might invite you [f]to eat of his sacrifice, 16 and (J)you might take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters might prostitute themselves with their gods and cause your sons also to prostitute themselves with their gods. 17 (K)You shall not make for yourself any gods cast in metal.

18 “You shall keep (L)the Feast of Unleavened Bread. For (M)seven days you are to eat unleavened bread, [g]as I commanded you, at the appointed time in the (N)month of Abib; for in the month of Abib you came out of Egypt.

19 (O)The [h]firstborn from every womb belongs to Me, and all your male livestock, the [i]firstborn from [j]cattle and sheep. 20 (P)You shall redeem with a lamb the firstborn from a donkey; and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. You shall redeem (Q)all the firstborn of your sons. [k](R)None are to appear before Me empty-handed.

21 “You shall work (S)six days, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even during plowing time and harvest you shall rest. 22 And you shall celebrate (T)the Feast of Weeks, that is, the first fruits of the wheat harvest, and the Feast of Ingathering at the turn of the year. 23 (U)Three times a year all your males are to appear before the Lord [l]God, the God of Israel. 24 For I will [m](V)drive out nations from you and enlarge your borders, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times a year to appear before the Lord your God.

25 (W)You shall not [n]offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread, (X)nor is the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover to [o]be left over until morning.

26 “You shall bring (Y)the very first of the first fruits of your soil into the house of the Lord your God.

“You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”
