1 John 3:2-6

New International Version

² Dear friends,^(A) now we are children of God,^(B) and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,^[a](C) we shall be like him,^(D) for we shall see him as he is.^{(E) 3} All who have this hope in him purify themselves,^(F) just as he is pure.^(G)

⁴ Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.^{(H) 5} But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins.^(I) And in him is no sin.^{(J) 6} No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.^(K) No one who continues to sin has either seen him^(L) or known him.^(M)
