Adventure Bible Family Devotions
God’s Eyes
In a plaza near the River Thames, Lee stared up. “That’s one gigantic Ferris wheel,” he said. Lee and his family were in England, about to ride the London Eye. “Actually, it’s an observation wheel,” said his father. “Ferris wheels have seats. This has pods.”
Lee’s sister, Amy, ran ahead. “Whatever it is, let’s get on it!” After waiting in line, they entered one of the glass pods, each of which could hold 25 people. As it rose, Lee stood looking out over London. In 15 minutes they reached the top, over 400 feet high. Amy pointed down at a tall clock tower. “There’s Big Ben!”
“Why is this called the Eye?” Lee asked.
His father shrugged. “Maybe because it looks like a big eye in the sky.”
God is always watching. That doesn’t mean his eyes are harsh. God’s eyes are loving, and he’s looking for people who are true to him. Some people, like King Ahab, do evil in God’s sight. But others, like King David, do what’s right. They’re committed to God, and they’ve chosen to live his way. When God sees someone like that, he strengthens and cares for and helps that person. What will you do as God watches?
