  12. Love the Lord Your God

    These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,
  13. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.
  14. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
  15. Act according to whatever they teach you and the decisions they give you. Do not turn aside from what they tell you, to the right or to the left.
  16. Otherwise, they will teach you to follow all the detestable things they do in worshiping their gods, and you will sin against the Lord your God.
