  1. In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the Lord.

  10. Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
  11. Jacob set up a stone pillar at the place where God had talked with him, and he poured out a drink offering on it; he also poured oil on it.
  12. But Moses said, “You must allow us to have sacrifices and burnt offerings to present to the Lord our God.
  13. Then Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, brought a burnt offering and other sacrifices to God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat a meal with Moses’ father-in-law in the presence of God.
  14. “‘Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you.
  15. “Do not hold back offerings from your granaries or your vats. “You must give me the firstborn of your sons.
  16. “Do not offer the blood of a sacrifice to me along with anything containing yeast. “The fat of my festival offerings must not be kept until morning.
  17. Then he sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to the Lord.
  18. Offerings for the Tabernacle

    The Lord said to Moses,
  19. “Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from everyone whose heart prompts them to give.
  20. These are the offerings you are to receive from them: gold, silver and bronze;
  21. And make its plates and dishes of pure gold, as well as its pitchers and bowls for the pouring out of offerings.
  22. The Altar of Burnt Offering

    “Build an altar of acacia wood, three cubits high; it is to be square, five cubits long and five cubits wide.
  23. But burn the bull’s flesh and its hide and its intestines outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
  24. Then burn the entire ram on the altar. It is a burnt offering to the Lord, a pleasing aroma, a food offering presented to the Lord.
  25. Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and have them wave them before the Lord as a wave offering.
