  13. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
  14. The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
  15. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
  16. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.
  17. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
  18. The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”
  19. And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”
  20. After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.
