  18. So Abraham brought sheep and cattle and gave them to Abimelek, and the two men made a treaty.
  19. So that place was called Beersheba, because the two men swore an oath there.
  20. So the man went to the house, and the camels were unloaded. Straw and fodder were brought for the camels, and water for him and his men to wash their feet.
  21. Then he and the men who were with him ate and drank and spent the night there. When they got up the next morning, he said, “Send me on my way to my master.”
  22. So they sent their sister Rebekah on her way, along with her nurse and Abraham’s servant and his men.
  23. When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.”
  24. Then Abimelek said, “What is this you have done to us? One of the men might well have slept with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.”
  25. Early the next morning the men swore an oath to each other. Then Isaac sent them on their way, and they went away peacefully.
