Then it seemed good to the apostles and elders (with the whole church) to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: namely, Judas (whose surname was Barsabas) and Silas, leaders among the brothers.

“We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.

And Judas and Silas, being Prophets, encouraged the brothers with many words, and strengthened them.

However, Silas thought it good to remain there.

And Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brothers to the grace of God.

Now when her masters saw that the hope of their gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace, to the Magistrates.

Now at midnight, Paul and Silas prayed, and sang Psalms to God. And the prisoners heard them.

Then he called for a light and rushed in, trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas.

And some of them believed (also a great multitude of the Greeks who feared God, and not a few of the chief women) and joined with Paul and Silas.

And the brothers immediately sent away Paul and Silas to Berea by night. And when they had gotten there, they entered into the synagogue of the Jews.

And immediately the brothers sent Paul away, to go to the sea. But Silas and Timothy remained there.

And those who conducted Paul brought him to Athens. And when they had received a commandment for Silas and Timothy to come to him at once, they departed.

Now when Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paul, being pressed by the Spirit, testified to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.
