  1. From Shepham the border will go ·east of [L down to] Ain to Riblah and ·along [L go down to] the hills east of ·Lake [T the Sea of] ·Galilee [L Kinnereth].
  2. ·King [L Pharaoh] Neco took Jehoahaz prisoner at Riblah in the land of Hamath so that Jehoahaz could not ·rule [reign] in Jerusalem. Neco ·made the people of Judah pay about [imposed a tribute of] ·seventy-five hundred pounds [L one hundred talents] of silver and ·about seventy-five pounds [L a talent] of gold.
  3. so they captured Zedekiah and took him to the king of Babylon at Riblah. There he passed sentence on Zedekiah.
  4. Nebuzaradan, the commander, took all these people and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.
  5. There at Riblah, in the land of Hamath, the king had them killed. So the people of Judah were ·led away from their country as captives [sent into exile from their land].
  6. But the ·Babylonian [L Chaldean] army ·chased [pursued] them and ·caught up with [overtook] Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho. They captured him and took him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, who was at the town of Riblah in the land of Hamath [C north of Israel, in Syria]. There Nebuchadnezzar passed ·his sentence [judgment] on Zedekiah.
  7. At Riblah the king of Babylon ·killed [slaughtered] Zedekiah’s sons and all the ·important officers [nobles] of Judah ·as Zedekiah watched [L before his eyes].
  8. So the Babylonians ·captured [seized] Zedekiah and took him to the king of Babylon at the town of Riblah in the land of Hamath. There he ·passed sentence on [judged] Zedekiah.
  9. At Riblah the king of Babylon ·killed [slaughtered] Zedekiah’s sons ·as he watched [L before his eyes]. The king also ·killed [slaughtered] all the officers of Judah.
  10. Nebuzaradan, the commander, took these people and brought them to the king of Babylon at the town of Riblah.
  11. There at Riblah, in the land of Hamath, the king had them killed. So the people of Judah were led away from their country as ·captives [exiles].
