  1. When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor.
  2. And after he became the father of Nahor, Serug lived 200 years and had other sons and daughters.
  3. When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah.
  4. And after he became the father of Terah, Nahor lived 119 years and had other sons and daughters.
  5. After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.
  6. Abram’s Family

    This is the account of Terah’s family line. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.
  7. Abram and Nahor both married. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milkah; she was the daughter of Haran, the father of both Milkah and Iskah.
  8. Nahor’s Sons

    Some time later Abraham was told, “Milkah is also a mother; she has borne sons to your brother Nahor:
  9. Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milkah bore these eight sons to Abraham’s brother Nahor.
  10. Then the servant left, taking with him ten of his master’s camels loaded with all kinds of good things from his master. He set out for Aram Naharaim and made his way to the town of Nahor.
  11. Before he had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milkah, who was the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.
  12. She answered him, “I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son that Milkah bore to Nahor.”
  13. “I asked her, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ “She said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom Milkah bore to him.’ “Then I put the ring in her nose and the bracelets on her arms,
  14. He said to them, “Do you know Laban, Nahor’s grandson?” “Yes, we know him,” they answered.
  15. May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge between us.” So Jacob took an oath in the name of the Fear of his father Isaac.
  16. Joshua said to all the people, “This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Long ago your ancestors, including Terah the father of Abraham and Nahor, lived beyond the Euphrates River and worshiped other gods.
