  1. And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”
  2. So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
  3. And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.
  4. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.

  8. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.
  9. I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
  10. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
  11. “‘Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams you may eat any that have fins and scales.
  12. But all creatures in the seas or streams that do not have fins and scales—whether among all the swarming things or among all the other living creatures in the water—you are to regard as unclean.
  13. You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between living creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten.’”
  14. Of all the creatures living in the water, you may eat any that has fins and scales.
  15. There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number— living things both large and small.

  22. Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was what looked something like a vault, sparkling like crystal, and awesome.
  23. It was the sound of the wings of the living creatures brushing against each other and the sound of the wheels beside them, a loud rumbling sound.
  24. Then the cherubim rose upward. These were the living creatures I had seen by the Kebar River.
  25. When the cherubim stood still, they also stood still; and when the cherubim rose, they rose with them, because the spirit of the living creatures was in them.
