But there will be no more gloom for her who was in anguish; in earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He shall make it glorious, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.

“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles—

And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?

“And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words.

For all these things the Gentiles eagerly seek; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

The Twelve Disciples Sent Out
These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them, saying, “Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the Samaritans;

and you will even be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

“Behold, My Servant whom I have chosen; My Beloved in whom My soul is well-pleased; I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He shall proclaim justice to the Gentiles.

And in His name the Gentiles will hope.”

The Holy Spirit Poured Out on the Gentiles
And opening his mouth, Peter said: “I most truly comprehend now that God is not one to show partiality,

And all the circumcised believers who came with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.

Peter’s Report in Jerusalem
Now the apostles and the brothers who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

And when they heard this, they quieted down and glorified God, saying, “Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.”

Many Gentiles Believe
And the next Sabbath, nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of the Lord.
