-
And Elijah the Tishbite, one of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before Whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, but according to my Word.”
-
And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear. Come, do as you have said. But make me a little cake from it first and bring it to me. And afterward make some for you and your son.
-
So she went and did as Elijah said. And she ate. So did he and her house for a certain time.
-
The barrel of the meal was not used up, nor was the oil in the jar finished, according to the Word of the LORD which He spoke by the hand of Elijah.
-
And she said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, O you man of God? Have you come to me to call my sin to remembrance, and to kill my son?”
-
Then the LORD heard the voice of Elijah. And the soul of the child came into him again. And he revived.
-
And Elijah took the child and brought him down, out of the chamber, into the house, and delivered him to his mother. And Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”
-
And the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the Word of the LORD in your mouth is true!”
-
After many days, the Word of the LORD came to Elijah, in the third year, saying, “Go, show yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain upon the Earth.”
-
And Elijah went to show himself to Ahab. and a great famine was in Samaria.
-
And as Obadiah was on the road, behold, Elijah met him. And he knew him and fell on his face, and said, “Are not you my lord, Elijah?”
-
And he answered him, “Yes. Go tell your lord, ‘Behold, Elijah.’”
-
“And now you say, ‘Go, tell your lord, “Behold, Elijah.”’
-
“And now you say, ‘Go, tell your lord, “Behold, Elijah,”’ so that he may kill me.’
-
And Elijah said, “As the LORD of Hosts lives, before Whom I stand, I will surely show myself to him this day.”
-
So, Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him. And Ahab went to meet Elijah.
-
And when Ahab saw Elijah, Ahab said to him, “Are you he who troubles Israel?”
-
And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him. But if Baal is, then go after him.” And the people did not answer him a word.
-
Then Elijah said to the people, “I only remain as a Prophet of the LORD! But Baal’s prophets are four hundred fifty men!
-
And Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose a bull for yourselves, and prepare him first (for you are many) and call on the name of your gods. But put no fire.”
-
And at noon, Elijah mocked them, and said, “Cry aloud. For he is a god. Either he talks or pursues or is on a journey. Or it may be that he sleeps, and must be awakened?”
-
And Elijah said to all the people, “Come to me!” And all the people came to him. And he repaired the Altar of the LORD that had broken down.
-
And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob (to whom the Word of the LORD came, saying, “Israel shall be your name”).
-
And when they were to offer the sacrifice, Elijah the Prophet came and said, “LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel! Let it be known this day, that You are the God of Israel, and that I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your Commandment!
-
And Elijah said to them, “Take the prophets of Baal! Do not let a man of them escape!” And they took them. And Elijah brought them to the brook Kishon and killed them there.
