  1. The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.

  10. And Jacob deceived Laban the Aramean by not telling him that he was fleeing.
  11. However, God came to Laban the Aramean in a dream of the night and said to him, “Be careful that you do not speak to Jacob either good or bad.”
  12. Jacob Settles in Shechem

    Now Jacob came safely to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Paddan-aram, and camped before the city.

    Then God appeared to Jacob again when he came from Paddan-aram, and He blessed him.

  19. When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer, king of Zobah, David killed twenty-two thousand men among the Arameans.
  20. Then David put garrisons among the Arameans of Damascus, and the Arameans became servants to David, bringing tribute. And the Lord helped David wherever he went.
  21. from Aram, Moab, the sons of Ammon, the Philistines, Amalek, and from the spoils of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
  22. So David made a name for himself when he returned from killing eighteen thousand Arameans in the Valley of Salt.
  23. Ammon and Aram Defeated

    Now it happened afterward that the king of the Ammonites died, and his son Hanun became king in his place.
  24. Now when the sons of Ammon saw that they had become repulsive to David, the sons of Ammon sent messengers and hired the Arameans of Beth-rehob and the Arameans of Zobah, twenty thousand foot soldiers, and the king of Maacah with a thousand men, and the men of Tob with twelve thousand men.
  25. And the sons of Ammon came out and lined up for battle at the entrance of the city, while the Arameans of Zobah and of Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were stationed by themselves in the field.
