  1. Introduction

    Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us,
  2. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth,
  3. He will bring back many of the people of Israel to the Lord their God.
  4. Zechariah asked the angel, “How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.”

  11. so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.”
  12. And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
  13. And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.
  14. Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’”
  15. I assure you that there were many widows in Israel in Elijah’s time, when the sky was shut for three and a half years and there was a severe famine throughout the land.
  16. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed—only Naaman the Syrian.”
  17. In the synagogue there was a man possessed by a demon, an impure spirit. He cried out at the top of his voice,
  18. “Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him.
  19. Jesus Heals Many

    Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her.
  20. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, “You are the Son of God!” But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew he was the Messiah.
  21. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
  22. Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy

    While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
  23. Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
  24. Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man

    One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick.
  25. Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus.
