but that there be an equality: that now at this time your abundance may supply their want, that their abundance may also supply your want, that there may be equality.
but by equality: your abundance being a supply at this present time for their want, that their abundance also may become a supply for your want; that there may be equality:
at this present time your surplus [over necessities] is going to supply their need, so that [at some other time] their surplus may be given to supply your need, that there may be equality;
But to have equality [share and share alike], your surplus over necessity at the present time going to meet their want and to equalize the difference created by it, so that [at some other time] their surplus in turn may be given to supply your want. Thus there may be equality,
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
At the present time your surplus is available for their need, so that their abundance may in turn meet your need, in order that there may be equality.
At the present moment, your surplus can fill their deficit so that in the future their surplus can fill your deficit. In this way there is equality.
at present your abundance can help those in need; so that when you are in need, their abundance can help you — thus there is reciprocity.
for you to share with them when you have so much, and they have so little. Later, when they have more than enough, and you are in need, they can share with you. Then everyone will have a fair share,
but [on the principle] of equality; in the present time your abundance for their lack, that their abundance may be for your lack, so that there should be equality.
at the present time your abundance being for the need of those ones, in order that the abundance of those ones also may come-to-be for your need, so that there may be equality.
In this present time let your abundance supply their want, that their abundance also may supply your want, that there may be an equality,
At this time you have plenty and can provide what they need. Then later, when they have plenty, they can provide what you need. Then everyone will have an equal share.
At this time, you yourselves have plenty. So you are able to give to those people who do not have enough. One day, things may change. They may have plenty, and you may not have enough. Then they can give money to help you. In that way, you will all have enough when you need it.
At the present time, your abundance will provide what they lack, in order that their abundance will also provide what you lack—in this way there will be equality.
your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness.
your abundance at the present time should supply their need, so that their abundance may supply your need, that there may be fairness.
At this time ·you have plenty and what you have [L your abundance] can help others who are in need. ·Then later, when they have plenty, they [or In the same way, their abundance] can help you when you are in need, and all will be equal [C Paul may be saying, (1) that the Jerusalem church may one day reciprocate by helping the Corinthians financially; or, (2) that the Corinthians’ financial gift will be reciprocated through Jerusalem’s spiritual gifts].
That also their abundance may be for your lack, that there may be equality.
At the present time, your surplus fills their need so that their surplus may fill your need. In this way things balance out.
I am not trying to relieve others by putting a burden on you; but since you have plenty at this time, it is only fair that you should help those who are in need. Then, when you are in need and they have plenty, they will help you. In this way both are treated equally.
at the present time your surplus is available for their need, so their abundance may also become available for our need, so there may be equality.
At this time you have plenty. What you have can help others who are in need. Then later, when they have plenty, they can help you when you are in need. Then all will be equal.
At the present time, your surplus fills their need, so that their surplus may fill your need. In this way things are fair.
Here is my opinion in the matter. I think it would be a good thing for you, who were the first a year ago to think of helping, as well as the first to give, to carry through what you then intended to do. Finish it, then, as well as you can, and show that you can complete what you set out to do with as much efficiency as you showed readiness to begin. After all, the important thing is to be willing to give as much as we can—that is what God accepts, and no one is asked to give what he has not got. Of course, I don’t mean that others should be relieved to an extent that leaves you in distress. It is a matter of share and share alike. At present your plenty should supply their need, and then at some future date their plenty may supply your need. In that way we share with each other, as the scripture says, ‘He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack’.
but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want that their abundance also may be a supply for your want, that there may be equality:
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:
at this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality.
At the present time your abundance will be for their need, in order that their abundance may also be for your need, so that there may be equality,
but you should divide with them. Right now you have plenty and can help them; then at some other time they can share with you when you need it. In this way, each will have as much as he needs.
So here’s what I think: The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart’s been in the right place all along. You’ve got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can’t. The heart regulates the hands. This isn’t so others can take it easy while you sweat it out. No, you’re shoulder to shoulder with them all the way, your surplus matching their deficit, their surplus matching your deficit. In the end you come out even. As it is written, Nothing left over to the one with the most, Nothing lacking to the one with the least. I thank God for giving Titus the same devoted concern for you that I have. He was most considerate of how we felt, but his eagerness to go to you and help out with this relief offering is his own idea. We’re sending a companion along with him, someone very popular in the churches for his preaching of the Message. But there’s far more to him than popularity. He’s rock-solid trustworthy. The churches handpicked him to go with us as we travel about doing this work of sharing God’s gifts to honor God as well as we can, taking every precaution against scandal. We don’t want anyone suspecting us of taking one penny of this money for ourselves. We’re being as careful in our reputation with the public as in our reputation with God. That’s why we’re sending another trusted friend along. He’s proved his dependability many times over, and carries on as energetically as the day he started. He’s heard much about you, and liked what he’s heard—so much so that he can’t wait to get there.
but for equality, that your abundance now at this time may supply their need, and their abundance may supply your need—that there may be equality.
at the present time · your abundance should supply what they need, so that then · their abundance may supply · your need; in this way there will be equality.
At the present time, your surplus fills their need so that their surplus may fill your need. In this way things balance out.
your surplus at the present time should supply their needs, so that their surplus may also supply your needs, that there may be equality.
at this present time your abundance will serve as assistance for their need, so that their abundance also may serve as assistance for your need, so that there may be equality;
at this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality;
Your surplus at the present time should relieve the needs of others, so that at another time their surplus may relieve your needs, and in this way there will be equality.
At this time you have plenty. What you have can help others who are in need. Then later, when they have plenty, they can help you when you are in need, and all will be equal.
At the present time, your abundance will meet their need, so that one day their abundance may also meet your need, and thus there may be equality,
Right now you have plenty in order to take care of what they need. Then they will have plenty to take care of what you need. The goal is to even things out.
At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality,
At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality,
but by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may supply their lack, that their abundance also may supply your lack—that there may be equality.
You have more than you need now. When you have need, then they can help you. You should share alike.
Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.
but, so that there be equality now at this time, that your abundance may relieve their lack, and that their abundance also hereafter may supply your lack – so that there may be equality,
your present abundance and their need, so that their abundance may be for your need, in order that there may be a fair balance.
your present abundance and their need, so that their abundance may be for your need, in order that there may be a fair balance.
your present abundance and their need, so that their abundance may be for your need, in order that there may be a fair balance.
your present abundance and their need, so that their abundance may also supply your need, in order that there may be equality.
At the present time your abundance can contribute to their lack, so that their abundance can contribute to your lack. That’s what makes for equality,
During the present time of your abundance for those who lack, and also for your lack there may be their abundance, [2C 9:12] so also there may be equality,
And also their abundance may be for your lack, that there may be equality.
but that as a matter of equality your abundance at the present time should supply their want, so that their abundance may supply your want, that there may be equality.
but that as a matter of equality your abundance at the present time should supply their want, so that their abundance may supply your want, that there may be equality.
Your abundance at this present time meets their need, so that their abundance may also meet your need—so that there may be equality.
The objective is not to go under so others will have some relief; the objective is to use this opportunity today to supply their needs out of your abundance. One day it may be the other way around, and they will need to supply your needs from what they have. That’s equality.
but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack; that there may be equality.
I want it to be equal for everyone. Right now, you have plenty and are able to help them. Another time, when they have plenty, they will help you when you need it. In that way things will be equal.
but of evenness in the present time your abundance fulfill the need of them, that also the abundance of them be a fulfilling of your need, that evenness be made; [but of evenness, in this present time your abundance fulfill the mis-ease of them, that and the abundance of them be supplement, or fulfilling, of your mis-ease, or need, that evenness be made;]
but by equality, at the present time your abundance -- for their want, that also their abundance may be for your want, that there may be equality,
