But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that Day should overtake you as a thief.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:
But you, believers, [all you who believe in Christ as Savior and acknowledge Him as God’s Son] are not in spiritual darkness [nor held by its power], that the day [of judgment] would overtake you [by surprise] like a thief;
But you are not in [given up to the power of] darkness, brethren, for that day to overtake you by surprise like a thief.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the dark, for this day to surprise you like a thief.
But you aren’t in darkness, brothers and sisters, so the day won’t catch you by surprise like a thief.
But you, brothers, are not in the dark, so that the Day should take you by surprise like a thief;
My dear friends, you don't live in darkness, and so that day won't surprise you like a thief.
But *ye*, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you as a thief:
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that the day should overtake you like a thief.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
But you, brothers and sisters, are not living in darkness. And so that day will not surprise you like a thief.
But you, our Christian friends, know about these things. You are not like people who live in the dark. So when the great day of the Lord happens, it should not suddenly surprise you, like a robber might surprise you.
But you, brothers, are not in the dark so that this day takes you by surprise like a thief,
But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.
But you, brothers and sisters, are not ·living in darkness [L in darkness], and so that day will not ·surprise you [or overtake you] like a thief.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day shall come on you, as it were a thief.
But, brothers and sisters, you don’t live in the dark. That day won’t take you by surprise as a thief would.
But you, friends, are not in the darkness, and the Day should not take you by surprise like a thief.
But you, brothers, are not in the dark, for this day to overtake you like a thief.
But you, brothers, are not living in darkness. And so that day will not surprise you like a thief.
However, brothers, you are not in the darkness, in order that the Day of the Lord might surprise you like a thief.
But because you, my brothers, are not living in darkness the day cannot take you completely by surprise. After all, burglary only takes place at night! You are all sons of light, sons of the day, and none of us belongs to darkness or the night. Let us then never fall into the sleep that stupefies the rest of the world: let us keep awake, with our wits about us. Night is the time for sleep and the time when men get drunk, but we men of the daylight should be alert, with faith and love as our breastplate and the hope of our salvation as our helmet. For God did not choose us to condemn us, but that we might secure his salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord. He died for us, so that whether we are “awake” or “asleep” we share his life. So go on cheering and strengthening each other with thoughts like these, as I have no doubt you have been doing.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should take you as a thief.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief,
But you, brothers, are not in the darkness, so that the day should catch you like a thief,
But, dear brothers, you are not in the dark about these things, and you won’t be surprised as by a thief when that day of the Lord comes.
But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this Day should overtake you as a thief.

But, brothers and sisters, you don’t live in the dark. That day won’t take you by surprise as a thief would.
But you, brothers, are not in darkness, for that day to overtake you like a thief.

However, brethren, you do not live in darkness, and therefore that Day will not catch you unawares like a thief.

But you, brothers and sisters, are not in the darkness for the day to overtake you like a thief would.
Brothers and sisters, you are not in darkness. So that day should not surprise you as a thief would.
But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief.

But as for you, my dear family—you are not in darkness. That day won’t surprise you like a robber.

My brothers and sisters, it will be different for you. You do not dwell in the darkness, so that day will not surprise you like a thief.

But you, my brothers, are not in the dark. That day should not surprise you like a person who comes to steal.
But, brethren, ye be not in darknesses, that that day as a thief catch you.
