    Moses returned to the Lord and said, “Why, Lord, why have you brought trouble on this people? Is this why you sent me?
  10. When you enter the land that the Lord will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony.
  11. “After the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites and gives it to you, as he promised on oath to you and your ancestors,
  12. Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’”
