  11. For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
  12. And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
  13. because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.”
  14. Warning and Encouragement

    Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.
  15. So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”

    Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
