One person considers one day to be more holy than another. Another person thinks all days are the same. Each of them should be absolutely sure in their own mind. Whoever thinks that one day is special does so to honor the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to honor the Lord. They give thanks to God. And whoever doesn’t eat meat does so to honor the Lord. They also give thanks to God. We don’t live for ourselves only. And we don’t die for ourselves only.

One person considers one day more sacred than another;(A) another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God;(B) and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. For none of us lives for ourselves alone,(C) and none of us dies for ourselves alone.
