8 (A)“He trusts in the Lord; let him (B)deliver him;
let him rescue him, for he (C)delights in him!”
9 Yet you are he who (D)took me from the womb;
you made me trust you at my mother's breasts.
10 On you was I cast from my birth,
and from (E)my mother's womb you have been my God.
11 Be not (F)far from me,
for trouble is near,
and there is (G)none to help.
12 Many bulls encompass me;
(H)strong bulls of (I)Bashan surround me;
13 they (J)open wide their mouths at me,
like a ravening and roaring lion.
14 I am (K)poured out like water,
and all my bones are (L)out of joint;
my (M)heart is like (N)wax;
it is melted within my breast;
15 my strength is (O)dried up like a potsherd,
and my (P)tongue sticks to my jaws;
you lay me in the dust of death.
16 For (Q)dogs encompass me;
a company of evildoers (R)encircles me;
they have (S)pierced my hands and feet[a]—
17 I can count all my bones—
they (T)stare and gloat over me;
18 (U)they divide my garments among them,
and for my clothing they cast lots.
19 But you, O Lord, (V)do not be far off!
O you my help, (W)come quickly to my aid!
20 Deliver my soul from the sword,
my precious life from the power of (X)the dog!
21 Save me from (Y)the mouth of the lion!
You have rescued[b] me from the horns of (Z)the wild oxen!
22 (AA)I will tell of your name to my (AB)brothers;
in the midst of the congregation I will praise you:
23 You who (AC)fear the Lord, praise him!
All you offspring of Jacob, (AD)glorify him,
and stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel!
24 For he has not despised or abhorred
the affliction of (AE)the afflicted,
and he has not (AF)hidden his face from him,
but has heard, when he (AG)cried to him.
25 From you comes my praise in the great (AH)congregation;
my (AI)vows I will (AJ)perform before those who fear him.
26 (AK)The afflicted[c] shall (AL)eat and be satisfied;
those who seek him shall praise the Lord!
May your hearts (AM)live forever!
27 All (AN)the ends of the earth shall remember
and turn to the Lord,
and all (AO)the families of the nations
shall worship before you.
28 For (AP)kingship belongs to the Lord,
and he rules over the nations.
29 All (AQ)the prosperous of the earth eat and worship;
before him shall (AR)bow all who go down to the dust,
even the one who could not (AS)keep himself alive.
30 Posterity shall serve him;
it shall be told of the Lord to the coming (AT)generation;
31 they shall (AU)come and proclaim his righteousness to a people yet (AV)unborn,
that he has done it.

23 The Lord is my (AW)shepherd; I shall not (AX)want.
2 He makes me lie down in green (AY)pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.[d]
3 He (AZ)restores my soul.
He (BA)leads me in (BB)paths of righteousness[e]
for his (BC)name's sake.
4 Even though I (BD)walk through the valley of (BE)the shadow of death,[f]
I will (BF)fear no evil,
for (BG)you are with me;
your (BH)rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You (BI)prepare a table before me
in (BJ)the presence of my enemies;
you (BK)anoint my head with oil;
my (BL)cup overflows.
6 Surely[g] goodness and mercy[h] shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall (BM)dwell[i] in the house of the Lord
(BN)forever.[j]

24 (BO)The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,[k]
the world and those who dwell therein,
2 for he has (BP)founded it upon (BQ)the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
3 (BR)Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his (BS)holy place?
4 (BT)He who has (BU)clean hands and (BV)a pure heart,
who does not (BW)lift up his soul to (BX)what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive (BY)blessing from the Lord
and (BZ)righteousness from (CA)the God of his salvation.
6 Such is (CB)the generation of those who seek him,
who (CC)seek the face of the God of Jacob.[l] Selah
7 (CD)Lift up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that (CE)the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord, strong and mighty,
the Lord, (CF)mighty in battle!
9 Lift up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?

8 “He trusts in the Lord,” they say,
“let the Lord rescue him.(A)
Let him deliver him,(B)
since he delights(C) in him.”
9 Yet you brought me out of the womb;(D)
you made me trust(E) in you, even at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth(F) I was cast on you;
from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
12 Many bulls(J) surround me;(K)
strong bulls of Bashan(L) encircle me.
13 Roaring lions(M) that tear their prey(N)
open their mouths wide(O) against me.
14 I am poured out like water,

the suffering of the afflicted one;(AQ)
he has not hidden his face(AR) from him
but has listened to his cry for help.(AS)
25 From you comes the theme of my praise in the great assembly;(AT)
before those who fear you[c] I will fulfill my vows.(AU)
26 The poor will eat(AV) and be satisfied;
those who seek the Lord will praise him—(AW)
may your hearts live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth(AX)
will remember and turn to the Lord,
and all the families of the nations
will bow down before him,(AY)
28 for dominion belongs to the Lord(AZ)
and he rules over the nations.
29 All the rich(BA) of the earth will feast and worship;(BB)
all who go down to the dust(BC) will kneel before him—
those who cannot keep themselves alive.(BD)
30 Posterity(BE) will serve him;
future generations(BF) will be told about the Lord.
31 They will proclaim his righteousness,(BG)
declaring to a people yet unborn:(BH)

1 The Lord is my shepherd,(BJ) I lack nothing.(BK)
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,(BL)
3 he refreshes my soul.(BM)
He guides me(BN) along the right paths(BO)
for his name’s sake.(BP)
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[d](BQ)
I will fear no evil,(BR)
for you are with me;(BS)
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table(BT) before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;(BU)
my cup(BV) overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love(BW) will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
Psalm 24
Of David. A psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord’s,(BX) and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;(BY)
2 for he founded it on the seas
and established it on the waters.(BZ)
3 Who may ascend the mountain(CA) of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?(CB)
4 The one who has clean hands(CC) and a pure heart,(CD)
who does not trust in an idol(CE)
or swear by a false god.[e]
5 They will receive blessing(CF) from the Lord
and vindication(CG) from God their Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face,(CH) God of Jacob.[f][g]
7 Lift up your heads, you gates;(CI)
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King(CJ) of glory(CK) may come in.(CL)
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,(CM)
