22 “^(A)You shall not see your countryman’s ox or his sheep straying away, and avoid them; you shall certainly bring them back to your countryman. ²And if your countryman is not near you, or if you do not know him, then you shall bring it to your house, and it shall remain with you until your countryman looks for it; then you shall restore it to him. ³You shall also do this with his donkey, and you shall do the same with his garment, and you shall do likewise with any lost property of your countryman, which has been lost by him and you have found. You are not allowed to avoid them. ⁴You shall not see your countryman’s donkey or his ox fallen down on the road, and avoid them; you shall certainly help him raise them up.

⁵“A woman shall not wear a man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.

⁶“If you happen to come upon a bird’s nest along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs in it, and the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, ^(B)you shall not take the mother with the young; ⁷you shall certainly let the mother go, but the young you may take for yourself, ^(C)in order that it may go well for you and that you may prolong your days.

⁸“When you build a new house, you shall make a ^[a]parapet for your roof, so that you will not bring guilt for bloodshed on your house if anyone falls from it.

⁹“^(D)You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, otherwise ^[b]all the produce of the seed which you have sown and the yield of the vineyard will be ^[c]forfeited to the sanctuary.

¹⁰“^(E)You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.

¹¹“^(F)You shall not wear a material of wool and linen combined together.

¹²“^(G)You shall make yourself tassels on the four corners of your garment with which you cover yourself.

Laws on Morality

¹³“^(H)If any man takes a wife and goes in to her and then ^[d]turns against her, ¹⁴and he charges her with shameful behavior and ^[e]publicly defames her, and says, ‘I took this woman, but when I came near her, I did not find her to have evidence of virginity,’ ¹⁵then the girl’s father and her mother shall take and bring out the evidence of the girl’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate. ¹⁶And the girl’s father shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man as a wife, but he ^[f]turned against her; ¹⁷and behold, he has charged her with shameful behavior, saying, “I did not find your daughter to have evidence of virginity.” But ^[g]this is the evidence of my daughter’s virginity.’ And they shall spread out the garment before the elders of the city. ¹⁸Then ^(I)the elders of that city shall take the man and rebuke him, ¹⁹and they shall fine him a hundred shekels of silver and give it to the girl’s father, because he ^[h]publicly defamed a virgin of Israel. And she shall remain his wife; he is not allowed to ^[i]divorce her all his days.

²⁰“But if this ^[j]^(J)charge is true, and they did not find the girl to have evidence of virginity, ²¹then they shall bring the girl out to the doorway of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her ^[k]to death, because she has ^(K)committed a disgraceful sin in Israel by playing the prostitute in her father’s house; so ^(L)you shall eliminate the evil from among you.

²²“^(M)If a man is found sleeping with a married woman, then both of them shall die, the man who slept with the woman, and the woman; so you shall eliminate the evil from Israel.

²³“^(N)If there is a girl who is a virgin ^[l]betrothed to a man, and another man finds her in the city and sleeps with her, ²⁴then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city and you shall stone them ^[m]to death: the girl, because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man, because he has violated his neighbor’s wife. So you shall eliminate the evil from among you.

²⁵“But if the man finds the girl who is betrothed in the field, and the man seizes her and ^[n]rapes her, then only the man who ^[o]raped her shall die. ²⁶And you are not to do anything to the girl; there is no sin in the girl worthy of death, for just as a man rises against his neighbor and murders him, ^[p]so is this case. ²⁷When he found her in the field, the betrothed girl ^[q]cried out, but there was no one to save her.

²⁸“^(O)If a man finds a girl who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and has sexual relations with her, and they are discovered, ²⁹then the man who had sexual relations with her shall give the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall become his wife, because he has violated her; he is not allowed to divorce her all his days.

³⁰“^[r]^(P)A man shall not take ^[s]his father’s wife in marriage, so that he does not ^[t]uncover his father’s garment.

110 ^(A)The Lord says to my Lord:
“^(B)Sit at My right hand
Until I make ^(C)Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
²The Lord will stretch out Your strong ^(D)scepter from Zion, saying,
“^(E)Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
³Your ^(F)people ^[a]will volunteer freely on the day of Your ^[b]power;
^(G)In ^[c]holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn,
^[d]Your youth are to You as the ^(H)dew.

⁴^(I)The Lord has sworn and will ^(J)not ^[e]change His mind,
“You are a ^(K)priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek.”
⁵The Lord is ^(L)at Your right hand;
He ^[f]will ^(M)shatter kings in the ^(N)day of His wrath.
⁶He will ^(O)judge among the nations,

The Lord Praised for His Goodness.

111 ^[j]Praise ^[k]the Lord!
I ^(T)will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart,
In the ^(U)company of the upright and in the assembly.
²^(V)Great are the works of the Lord;
They are ^[l]^(W)studied by all who delight in them.
³^[m]^(X)Splendid and majestic is His work,
And ^(Y)His righteousness endures forever.
⁴He has caused His ^[n]wonders ^[o]to be remembered;
The Lord is ^(Z)gracious and compassionate.
⁵He has ^(AA)given ^[p]food to those who ^[q]fear Him;
He will ^(AB)remember His covenant forever.
⁶He has made known to His people the power of His works,
In giving them the inheritance of the nations.

Salvation Reaches to the Ends of the Earth

49 Listen to Me, you ^(A)islands,
And pay attention, you peoples from afar.
^(B)The Lord called Me from the womb;
From the ^[a]body of My mother He named Me.
²He has made My ^(C)mouth like a sharp sword,
In the ^(D)shadow of His hand He has concealed Me;
And He has also made Me a sharpened ^(E)arrow,
He has hidden Me in His quiver.
³He said to Me, “^(F)You are My Servant, Israel,
^(G)In whom I will show My glory.”
⁴But I said, “I have ^(H)labored in vain,
I have spent My strength for nothing and futility;
Nevertheless, the justice due to Me is with the Lord,
And My ^(I)reward is with My God.”

⁵And now says ^(J)the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant,
To bring Jacob back to Him, so that ^(K)Israel might be gathered to Him
(For I am ^(L)honored in the sight of the Lord,
And My God is My ^(M)strength),
⁶He says, “It is too ^[b]small a thing that You should be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the ^(N)protected ones of Israel;
I will also make You a ^(O)light ^[c]of the nations
So that My salvation may ^[d]reach to the ^(P)end of the earth.”
⁷This is what the Lord, the ^(Q)Redeemer of Israel and its Holy One,
Says to the ^[e]^(R)despised One,
To the One abhorred by the nation,
To the Servant of rulers:
“^(S)Kings will see and arise,
Princes will also ^(T)bow down,
Because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel who has chosen You.”

⁸This is what the Lord says:
“At a ^(U)favorable time I answered You,
And on a day of salvation I helped You;
And I will ^(V)watch over You and ^(W)make You a covenant of the people,
To ^[f]^(X)restore the land, to give as inheritances the deserted hereditary lands;
⁹Saying to those who are ^(Y)bound, ‘^[g]Go free,’
To those who are in darkness, ‘Show yourselves.’
They will feed along the roads,
And their pasture will be on all ^(Z)bare heights.
¹⁰They will ^(AA)not hunger or thirst,
Nor will the scorching ^(AB)heat or sun strike them down;
For ^(AC)He who has compassion on them will ^(AD)lead them,
And He will guide them to ^(AE)springs of water.
¹¹I will make all ^(AF)My mountains a road,
And My ^(AG)highways will be raised up.
¹²Behold, these will come ^(AH)from afar;
And behold, these will come from the ^(AI)north and from the west,
And these from the land of Aswan.”
¹³^(AJ)Shout for joy, you heavens! And rejoice, you earth!
Break forth into joyful shouting, mountains!
For the ^(AK)Lord has comforted His people
And will ^(AL)have compassion on His afflicted.

Promise to Zion

¹⁴But Zion said, “The Lord has abandoned me,
And the Lord has forgotten me.”
¹⁵“Can a woman forget her nursing child
And have no compassion on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget, but ^(AM)I will not forget you.
¹⁶Behold, I have ^(AN)inscribed you on the palms of My hands;
Your ^(AO)walls are continually before Me.
¹⁷Your ^[h]builders hurry;
Your ^(AP)destroyers and devastators
Will leave you.
¹⁸^(AQ)Raise your eyes and look around;
^(AR)All of them gather together, ^(AS)they come to you.
^(AT)As I live,” declares the Lord,
“You will certainly ^(AU)put them all on as ^[i]jewelry and bind them on as a bride.
¹⁹For ^(AV)your ruins and deserted places and your destroyed land—
Now you will certainly be ^(AW)too cramped for the inhabitants,
And those who ^(AX)swallowed you will be far away.
²⁰The ^(AY)children ^[j]you lost will yet say in your ears,
‘The place is too cramped for me;
Make room for me that I may live here.’
²¹Then you will ^(AZ)say in your heart,
‘Who has fathered these for me,
Since I have been bereaved of my children
And ^(BA)cannot conceive, and I am an ^(BB)exile, and a wanderer?
And who has raised these?
Behold, I was ^(BC)left alone;
^[k]^(BD)Where are these from?’”

²²This is what the Lord ^[l]God says:

“Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations
And set up My ^(BE)flag to the peoples;
And they will ^(BF)bring your sons ^[m]in their arms,
And your daughters will be carried on their shoulders.
²³^(BG)Kings will be your guardians,
And their princesses your nurses.
They will ^(BH)bow down to you with their faces to the ground
And ^(BI)lick the dust from your feet;
And you will ^(BJ)know that I am the Lord;
Those who hopefully ^(BK)wait for Me will ^(BL)not be put to shame.

²⁴“^(BM)Can the prey be taken from a mighty man,
Or the captives of ^[n]a tyrant be rescued?”

²⁵Indeed, this is what the Lord says:

“Even the ^(BN)captives of the mighty man will be taken away,
And the prey of a tyrant will be rescued;
For I will contend with the one who contends with you,
And I will ^(BO)save your sons.
²⁶I will feed your ^(BP)oppressors with their ^(BQ)own flesh,
And they will become drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine;
And ^[o]^(BR)humanity will know that I, the Lord, am your ^(BS)Savior
And your ^(BT)Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

The Fourfold Hallelujah

19 After these things I heard something like a ^(A)loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying,

“^(B)Hallelujah! ^(C)Salvation, ^(D)glory, and power belong to our God, ²^(E)because His ^(F)judgments are ^(G)true and righteous; for He has judged the ^(H)great prostitute who was corrupting the earth with her sexual immorality, and He has ^(I)avenged the blood of His bond-servants ^[a]on her.” ³And a second time they said, “^(J)Hallelujah! ^(K)Her smoke rises forever and ever.” ⁴And the ^(L)twenty-four elders and the ^(M)four living creatures ^(N)fell down and worshiped God who sits on the throne, saying, “^(O)Amen. ^(P)Hallelujah!” ⁵And a voice came from the throne, saying,

Marriage of the Lamb

⁷Let’s rejoice and be glad and ^(X)give the glory to Him, because ^(Y)the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His ^[b]^(Z)bride has prepared herself.” ⁸It was given to her to clothe herself in ^(AA)fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the ^(AB)righteous acts of the ^[c]saints.

⁹Then ^(AC)he *said to me, “^(AD)Write: ‘^(AE)Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb.’” And he *said to me, “^(AF)These are the true words of God.” ¹⁰Then ^(AG)I fell at his feet to worship him. ^(AH)But he *said to me, “^[d]Do not do that; I am a ^(AI)fellow servant of yours and your brothers and sisters who ^(AJ)hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

The Coming of Christ

¹¹And I saw ^(AK)heaven opened, and behold, a ^(AL)white horse, and He who sat on it is called ^(AM)Faithful and True, and in ^(AN)righteousness He judges and wages war. ¹²His ^(AO)eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many ^(AP)crowns; and He has a ^(AQ)name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. ¹³He is clothed with a ^(AR)robe dipped in blood, and His name is called ^(AS)The Word of God. ¹⁴And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in ^(AT)fine linen, ^(AU)white and clean, were following Him on white horses. ¹⁵^(AV)From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that ^(AW)with it He may strike down the nations, and He will ^[e]^(AX)rule them with a rod of iron; and ^(AY)He treads the ^[f]wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. ¹⁶And on His robe and on His thigh He has ^(AZ)a name written: “^(BA)KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

¹⁷Then I saw ^[g]an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to ^(BB)all the birds that fly in ^(BC)midheaven, “^(BD)Come, assemble for the great feast of God, ¹⁸so that you may ^(BE)eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, ^(BF)both free and slaves, and ^(BG)small and great.”

¹⁹And I saw ^(BH)the beast and ^(BI)the kings of the earth and their armies, assembled to make war against Him who ^(BJ)sat on the horse, and against His army.

Doom of the Beast and False Prophet

²⁰And the beast was seized, and with him the ^(BK)false prophet who ^(BL)performed the signs ^[h]^(BM)in his presence, by which he ^(BN)deceived those who had received the ^(BO)mark of the beast and those who ^(BP)worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the ^(BQ)lake of ^(BR)fire, which burns with ^[i]brimstone. ²¹And the rest were killed with the sword which ^(BS)came from the mouth of Him who ^(BT)sat on the horse, and ^(BU)all the birds were filled with their flesh.
