18 And when they came to him, he said to them,

“You yourselves know, (A)from the first day that I set foot in [a]Asia, how I was with you the whole time, 19 serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and trials which came upon me [b]through (B)the plots of the Jews; 20 how I (C)did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was beneficial, and teaching you publicly and [c]from house to house, 21 solemnly (D)testifying to both Jews and Greeks of (E)repentance toward God and (F)faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. 22 And now, behold, bound by the [d]Spirit, (G)I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, 23 except that (H)the Holy Spirit solemnly (I)testifies to me in every city, saying that (J)chains and afflictions await me. 24 But (K)I do not consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may (L)finish my course and (M)the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to (N)testify solemnly of the gospel of (O)God’s grace.

18 When they arrived, he said to them: “You know how I lived the whole time I was with you,(A) from the first day I came into the province of Asia.(B) 19 I served the Lord with great humility and with tears(C) and in the midst of severe testing by the plots of my Jewish opponents.(D) 20 You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything(E) that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house. 21 I have declared to both Jews(F) and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance(G) and have faith in our Lord Jesus.(H)

22 “And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem,(I) not knowing what will happen to me there. 23 I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me(J) that prison and hardships are facing me.(K) 24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me;(L) my only aim is to finish the race(M) and complete the task(N) the Lord Jesus has given me(O)—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.(P)
