6:1–8 The last vision, the four chariots, recalls the four horses of the first vision (v. 1 note; cf. 1:7–17). The four chariots are symbolic of the “four winds of heaven” (v. 5), but beyond that the order and color of the horses may not have any special significance. The author of Revelation uses similar imagery in his portrayal of the four horsemen (Rev. 6:1–6).
